Meet the Lab!

Hannah Chapman, M.A.

Hannah Chapman is a first-year clinical psychology student in Dr. Copeland’s lab. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and her Master of Arts degree in Psychology from American University. Hannah is interested in researching how body acceptance and self-compassion may impact negative body image and disordered eating, most specifically Orthorexia Nervosa. She is also interested in assessing the relationship between social media and body image.

Shelby Stewart is a first-year clinical psychology student in Dr. Copeland's lab. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology as well as her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology from Louisiana State University. Shelby is interested in research regarding the Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention for College Students Program (BASICS) as well as exploring the underlying mechanisms of drinking motivations in relation to sleep quality.

Meet the lab!

Aaron Waters is a third-year clinical psychology student in Dr. Copeland’s laboratory. He received his Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology from California Lutheran University (Thousand Oaks, CA). His broad research interests include substance abuse prevention and intervention development. Specifically, he is interested in identifying predictors of resilience associated with prolonged abstinence in socioeconomically disadvantaged recovering substance abusers. Outside of school, he enjoys yoga and cooking exotic food.
