I don’t normally get involved in online debates. But for this one, I have to speak up and say that I 100% DISAGREE. Just swipe and you’ll see why. It’s not because I was born with the natural talent to style hair. It’s not even because I put in the work and paid for my license.

It’s because of many reasons, but just to make a few:
1. Everything isn’t just dry scalp.
2. There’s a difference between diseases, disorders and infections.
3. Some marks aren’t just birthmarks.

And it’s important to be able to identify it. Cosmetology is more than just styling hair. In some cases, it can be the difference between life and death, or an early diagnosis for someone.

For all those out there that don’t think you need a license…what are you gonna do when someone sits in your chair already washed and blown out, and you start styling and notice a patch? Send them home? Or ignore it and finish styling, potentially making it worse? Do you know what to do if someone has an allergic reaction while you’re servicing them? All of this is important. It may not be common, but it’s not unheard of. Thankfully, I am licensed and know exactly what to do-whether it’s style them and use products that will help, or refer them to a physician or dermatologist.

For those saying they didn’t learn anything in cos school, I’m sorry they did you a disservice. Because cosmetology school is far more than just learning to style, cut, braid, or relax hair. I love what I do. And I will forever be a student of it.

I shampoo and blow dry every client and assess my client’s scalp. I ask questions about their lifestyle, allergies, or anything that can help me during my assessment. If at any time I notice something unusual, I discuss it with them. I do not diagnose as I am not a trichologist (Yet 😉) or a physician, but I can definitely recommend they see their physician. If you don’t believe me, ask anyone who has ever received my services. I truly hope they do not pass this bill, but either way, I will continue to learn and grow, so I can provide the best possible care and service for my clients.

🔊🗣️2023 was a year of learning and growth. With growth comes some growing pains, but it’s necessary for expansion. I learned more about myself, and stepped over into a new outlook and understanding of life. Something about turning 40 just hit different. In 2024, I will be me. No excuses, no apologies, no holding back. I’m looking forward to living life, more quality family time, and expanding as an entrepreneur. I don’t know what the future holds, but I’m trusting God with everything, and that He will guide me in every step that lies ahead. I’m turning the light switch back on.

Writing my story. One Paige at a Time.

Numbers 6:24-26
The LORD bless you and keep you; The LORD make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.

Happy New Year!

If you haven’t noticed, The Flu and Covid has been spreading like pollen in Spring time around Baton Rouge. While I dislike wearing a mask while working, I despise being sick even more. No one wants to be sick-especially during the Holidays. As a result, masks are required in my studio. For everyone. If you do not have one, one will be provided for you.

This is a measure to protect myself and you as well.

Thank you to those who have canceled as a precaution, and my prayers are with you!

Thank you all for your continued support! Stay safe!
