Nicole is the Founder and CEO of Salon Nicole Blow Dry Bar, a premier luxury hair spa established in 2015. Specializing in textured hair, the brand has redefined beauty experiences by offering convenient, expert styling with a strong emphasis on healthy hair and elevated service standards.

A passionate innovator and leader in the beauty and wellness industry, Nicole is committed to advancing education, product excellence and professional empowerment.

Hair porosity is determined by how your hair retains moisture. It’s the outer level of the hair shaft and goes deeper than texture and density.

The porosity of your hair directly
determines if a product or hair care process will work for your hair type which is why understanding the porosity of your hair is important to the outcome of your service or hair care routine.


UNDERSTANDING THAT:

LOW
Hair will noticeably have build up. It may also take longer for the hair to dry, feel slightly heavy, and be more difficult to style.

MEDIUM
Hair retains water and moisture and a lot more receptive to products. This type of hair is considered to feel more healthy than someone with high porosity.

HIGH
Hair will feel dry and hallow. It will soak up all oils and proteins, but unless you’re using the right products, that hair will not retain moisture.
