Summer is coming and so are the struggles with keeping your eyebrows drawn on! Warm weather, swimming and sweat make it nearly impossible to keep your drawn-in brows from being wiped off. Now is he perfect time to get your brows done so you will be ready to enjoy the freedom of waking up with eyebrows and keeping them all day, everyday!
Sounds great, right?! Apparently some people are still afraid. Ok buckle up, it’s a long post but worth reading if you’re serious about wanting brows and want to learn how to prevent getting those scary results!
Let’s talk about one of the biggest reasons I hear from people that are stopping them from enjoying this luxury. What’s that reason? “They are afraid of them turning into dark, funny colored brows that look like a magic marker that never go away.” I get it, I totally get that! So let me give you some peace of mind. Those ugly, dark grayish blue/purple, blocking eyebrow tattoos get that way for a reason…. several reasons, actually. Yes, the skill and knowledge of the permanent make up artist is extremely important and that skill and knowledge should be a big given… so you’d think. Unfortunately it’s not the case with all artists and those artists should get more training or stop tattooing people’s faces!
Now I have that crucial piece of the puzzle out of the way, I want to discuss another huge reason eyebrow tattoos go bad. I want to bring to light how vital it is to understand and choose the correct pigment for each individual client!! Everyone’s skin has different needs….. different undertones and overtones that affect the healed color, different skin types & lifestyles that can alter the way a pigment heals and again, affect the color, longevity and integrity of the tattoo. 💥Ok so here’s the key: THE PIGMENT INDUSTRY HAS DRASTICALLY CHANGED!!! Those ugly brows you see walking around might be the result of poor work but there’s an even bigger possibility. There’s a very big chance it might be from using a popular pigment trend/type over the past 8-10 years. Unfortunately this crucial information isn’t so readily available unless the artist makes an effort to learn about it. The sad part is many of them don’t even know that they don’t know!! Not all pigments are created equal! Not all pigment info is easily understood! Not all the permanent makeup schools teach this!!!!!)

There are a lot of artists who went to a training (or trained themselves! 😱👎🏻) and then there are artists that spent the time and money to get trained properly by reputable trainers in the business AND continue to immerse themselves in the forever changing and growing industry!! Big difference, HUGE difference!!! Anyone can get trained, hang out a shingle, make those cute and sophisticated videos that we all see online these days. But how much skill and knowledge do they really have behind all their social media savvy? Yes, everyone starts their journey somewhere but how much more of themselves are they putting into it to keep up on the latest info and products? That is what makes the difference!! So do you want to go to that someone who is an expert at making all those cute and sassy videos but might not necessarily have the right tools for your face or would you rather go someone who has been trained well and is staying current with the latest, greatest and ever-changing industry in order to prevent those ugly eyebrow tattoos that are walking around? *Photo 3: returning for a maintenance appointment. This is actually her second annual procedure so she has already had her two month follow up and a touch up a year earlier than this as well. Notice it’s not dark and funny colored or blocky? That’s because I understand the correct pigment type for her skin. This is how an eyebrow tattoo should fade down before returning for another touch up!!
Finally, Photo 4: right after her maintenance touch up. I was able to just refresh them instead of doing a major color correction or removal!!

What are you waiting for?!!! I’ve heard it all…. I’m too old, I being too vain, I’m nervous, I’m afraid I won’t like it, it’s permanent, it’s my face, I’m afraid it will hurt, etc, etc!
