“Can you guess which side of my face I hate? Trick question :) After letting Dr Levy work his magic, I actually love both sides now. When filler in the under-eye area is not placed properly or the wrong filler is used, a treatment intended to improve under-eye shadows can actually result in the formation of under eye bags.  

Many traditional hyaluronic acid (HA) gels such as Restylane and Juvederm are hydrophilic, which means they draw fluid into the tissue plane where they reside. This effect combined with the fact that these fillers can rise up to the under-surface of thin skin rather than dissipate down and away, can leave someone looking more tired for many years after an incorrect under eye treatment.

Tina came in for lips and botox. Dr Lévy noticed that her undereyes seemed full. She mentioned that she had a filler treatment a few years ago which left her with this fullness; she assumed it would go away but it didn’t. She also did not know it could be reversed.

After dissolving her old filler and replacing with a new, less hydrophilic, HA filler, her eyes instantly brightened up.
