Hey friends, got a big update for you: Mermaid Nail Art is moving! Starting August 7th, I'll be working from a space at my home in Fife. I know this will make it difficult for some of you to continue seeing me, and I completely understand! Either way, I appreciate all of you for being wonderful clients! ๐ My schedule will stay pretty much the same, but I will be adding Thursdays. Online booking is available as usual, and I'm accepting new clients, so if you live in the Tacoma area, click the button in the bio to book! Stay safe!

Hey friends. There is some very important work being done in this country right now and I want to help and I know that many of my clients want to as well. I have decided to accept tips from my clients again, but 100% of them will go to Northwest Community Bail Fund. I'm setting a goal to raise $5000 for Northwest Community Bail Fund in solidarity with protesters working against police brutality. If you choose to show your appreciation for my work, you'll be helping those who are fighting for justice. But you don't have to go through me! You can click the link below to donate now or go to blacklivesmatter.com for more resources and ways to help. BLACK LIVES MATTER.
Keeping people safe from covid-19 and cops | NCBF (Powered by Donorbox) Northwest Community Bail Fund stands in solidarity with our friends on the streets of Seattle and across the country working against state violence. Even the smallest donation can help us keep protesters out of overcrowded jails and on the streets standing up for our rights!ย
Hey friends! It's official, I get to go back to work! I'll be taking clients beginning on Tuesday, June 9. There are some changes and guidelines we will have to follow, so please read this post completely before requesting an appointment.
King County has been approved for a modified Phase 2, which means the salon can only work at 25% capacity. So for now, my schedule has changed to 2:30pm-8:30pm (on my regular days Tue,Wed, Fri, Sat). Because of this, I will not be opening up online booking yet. If you'd like an appointment please text me at 253-569-3039.
I am required by law to contact you the day before your appointment and ask you the following questions:
1. Have you been confirmed positive for COVID-19?
2. Are you currently experiencing, or recently experienced, any acute respiratory illness symptoms such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath?
3. Have you been in close contact with any persons who has been confirmed positive for COVID-19?
4. Have you been in close contact with any persons who have traveled and are also exhibiting acute respiratory illness symptoms?
If you do not respond or your answer is yes to any of these questions, I cannot do your service and I will ask you to reschedule.
There will be an OPTIONAL log in sheet at the reception desk when you come in. This is in case a client or operator at the salon is confirmed positive for COVID-19, anyone who was in possible contact with that person can be informed. Again, this is OPTIONAL.
When you arrive at the salon, please stay in your vehicle and text me to let me know you are there. I will come and let you into the salon. Please put on a mask or cloth covering over your mouth and nose before exiting your vehicle. If you do not have one, let me know and I will bring a disposable mask out to you.
No one will be allowed to come into the salon with you.
Once inside, please wash your hands before sitting down for your service.
Clients are also required to wear a protective layer over their clothing. I will provide a clean hospital gown for you to wear over your clothes during your service.
As I posted before, I am raising my prices to the following to compensate for additional supplies and PPE:
Full Set: $110
Fill: $95
Gel Polish Mani: $85
Art: up to 15 min $15, up to 30 min $30, up to 60 min $50, 60+ min $75, French $20
Removal: $35
Previous pricing will be honored for all prepaid appointments and clients who have prepaid will have priority on appointments.
Thank you so much for your patience and cooperation during this time. -Amber

FYI for my clients. As much as I'd love to get back to work, this is why I haven't opened up online booking again yet. June 1st IS NOT a guaranteed reopening date! It's likely I won't know when I can reopen for sure until a few days before it happens. But I am ready to go whenever it does, as soon as I know, you'll know. Stay safe ๐
Larger counties face uphill battle in reaching Phase 2 of re-opening plan Using Governor Insleeโs new metrics, the most populous counties that drive the economic engine for the state will have a very tough time trying to reach Phase 2 early unless there's a change. Seventeen of the state's 39 counties are currently not eligible to apply for a Phase 2 opening, Inslee...

Preparing to Reopen
Hello friends!
If all goes according to plan, I'll be able to start taking clients again in June. Salon professionals have received the preliminary requirements for reopening and there will be some extra safety steps we all, clients included, will need to take.
1. If you arrive early, please stay in your vehicle until your appointment time, to avoid crowding the waiting area. Social distancing is still in effect. If I am ready for you before your appointment time, I'll let you know via text.
2. Please put on a mask or cloth covering over your nose and mouth, before you leave your vehicle. I will have disposable masks on hand if needed but, as they are in short supply all over, it will help me greatly if you have your own!
3. Please do not bring anyone else with you to your appointments, not even your children.
4. Before your appointment starts, wash your hands and use hand sanitizer (that I'll have available).
A few other things I will be doing in response: For the foreseeable future, I will be reducing my hours/number of clients per day, in order to reduce the risk of transmission. My new hours will be: 12pm-6pm Tue-Wed-Fri, 11am-5pm Sat.
I will also be increasing my prices. Usually I do this in the fall but purchasing new safety equipment and extra supplies, means I have to move it up a few months. My new pricing will be as follows:
Full Set: $110
Fill: $95
Gel Polish Mani: $85
Art: up to 15 min $15, up to 30 min $30, up to 60 min $50, 60+ min $75, French $20
Removal: $35
Current pricing will be honored for all prepaid appointments and clients who have prepaid will have priority on appointments. I will open online booking as soon as we have a concrete reopen date.
Please text me at 253-569-3039 if you have any questions. I hope you are doing and well, and I'm excited to see you all again!

Stay at home order extended
Hey friends!
Governor Inslee just announce that the stay at home order will be extended through May 31st, and the reopening of business will be done in 4 phases, with 3 weeks minimum between phases. Salons are opening during phase 2 which means the soonest I'll be able to take clients again is June.
(Here is the plan that was announced: kxly.com/content/uploads/2020/05/thumbnail_WA-re-opening-phased.png (https://www.kxly.com/content/uploads/2020/05/thumbnail_WA-re-opening-phased.png) )
So, I'm going to cancel May's appointments, and turn off online booking until I know I can actually take clients. If salons do get to open sooner, anyone who has prepaid will get priority on appointments, and then I'll open the booking up to everyone else. Any appointments already booked for June and beyond will remain on the books. If you have any questions, text me at 253-569-3039.
Thank you all again for being so patient. I'm so looking forward to getting back to work and seeing you all again. Stay safe.

Update from Mermaid Nail Art about COVID-19 Click here for an update from Mermaid Nail Art!
Hello friends! A quick update: I was hoping that Governor Inslee's press conference today would have some definitive info on whether salons will for sure be allowed to open on May 5th as planned. All he said was that any reopening of business would be slow and conditional. The stay at home order is still being evaluated and they would be making decisions and updating in the next few days. I know some of you have appointments scheduled next week, and as soon as I know anything, I will be updating everyone. I'm excited to get to back to work as soon as possible and know a lot of you are wanting your nails back!! Thank you for being patient while we all go through this process.

I hope you all are staying healthy and getting through this. I'll be posting updates via email, Instagram, and Facebook from now on. If youโre looking for more ways to protect yourself and your loved ones, check out the CDC (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) website.

One of the many reasons I don't use dip products.
Nail technicians, expert warn against dip powder nails Dip powder nails is now under scrutiny because experts say it could put customers at risk of an infection.
