Bodywork for Heart & Mind

Hello Bellingham, I’m calling in 6 new clients for the month! Are we a fit?

You:
Prioritize self-care and want to make it a regular part of your routine.
Maybe you’ve been dealing with something puzzling about your body.
Maybe you’re already in touch with your body, and you want to take it further.
Maybe you’re very active and you’re looking for someone who really gets it, not just physical training, but the nervous system requirements of intense training and skill development.
Maybe be you’re familiar with body work and you want something extraordinary.
Or maybe you just need a space where you can feel safe, witnessed, and held by a caring male presence.

A Daydream Healing Arts Session is all about connecting with your body and nervous system to create a bodywork session unlike any you’ve had before.

Me:
I’ve been an LMT for six years, I have a masters degree in Language Arts & Critical Theory, and I’ve been doing yoga and Zen Buddhist practice for over 15 years. So not only do I know how the body moves, but I know exactly how I can move it in the way it feels like water. I know how to analyse complicated patterns in the body to find what makes sense and what doesn’t, and I know how to remain grounded in the body, the present experience and the insight it brings.
I blend science and flow, listening to what your body needs and meeting it where it’s at without trying to force an outcome. I see where restrictions and limitations can be reframed to simply being communication from your body, and then I give them an invitation to unwind in a way that’s kind to your nervous system.
I give people back to themselves, more whole, resilient and connected than ever.
I help people build skills that go beyond our sessions and last a lifetime.

If this sounds like you or something you’d like to experience, I’m offering 20% off to new clients for your first session.
Book your first session at 20% off—link in bio.

Reach for the stars. 🌟

I love this infusion of Thai massage and other modalities for the shoulders, and trust me, your shoulders will too. You can see the muscles and connective tissue wrapped all around the scapula getting involved, the pec major and minor, and even the infamous lats unwind from the hip and low back.

In 5 Element Theory which I often use in my sessions, the kind of work you see in this video can also involve qualities of being able to give and accept and the ability to reach, perhaps, for the stars. What Spirit came here to do and how it extends itself out into the world—sometimes this can be what we work on in a session. Work like this can find many purposes, and I love following the story of the body as it unwinds. It is good for the whole body, not just the physical part.

Have you ever been getting a massage and realized something like, “Wow! I wasn’t even aware of that part of my body until it let go of all this tension I didn’t know I was holding”? It’s a wonderful thing. At the same time, it is kind of a crazy experience to rediscover something of yourself you didn’t know you lost. And this experienece can be the same for your mind as your body.

We all need help sometimes, even to do something as deceptively simple-sounding as remember who you are, or just relax.

The really profound-sounding stuff doesn’t always have to be happening in a session.

As long as you have a body, you will benefit from body work, and it can always be suited to fit your needs.

The impact of how far body work like this goes in your life certainly can go beyond balancing out blood pressure and pH levels and assisting in oncology or other medical treatment. But I do like to point out how essential it can be to helping a person overcome and prevent physical maladies like injury and overwork.

Body work is essential.
It can be more than just physical therapy.
Sometimes this therapy comes from uniting parts of you into a more unified, intelligent whole.

Happy Juneteenth & Pride!

“We are not free until we’re *all* free.”
That’s what a wonderful, kind leader of a community told me at my first Juneteenth gathering. I think of it every year, and her message has never been more important than it is today. It lifts up all who have suffered from the Trans-Atlantic slave trade. At the same time, it shows how we are ALL in the same boat together. It liberates us from divisiveness so that together we can stand.

People are power, not money, and there is more than enough money to go around. Today’s astronomical gap of wealth disparity only exists because we allow it to exist. All it takes is for us to get fed up, to come together and put our foot down, to say no to the extremely unacceptable violence, exploitation, poverty, etc that comes along with such resource disparity. That’s all it takes for us to be free.

Let’s not fool ourselves any longer. The systems that have brought us here are broken and out of balance. They need to be restructured. And the things that describe us but don’t define us, like gender, ethnicity, country of origin and everything else, these things are all a celebration of life and not something to divide us and make us weaker and distract us from the bigger issues at hand.

Sharing wealth and freedom around with each other should be super exciting and joyful, and doesn’t it sound way better than playing the game that billionaire/trillionaires would control us with? We can find a way. And it has to be way more fun to do than working like a stiff yet not even be able to afford a house, healthcare or more than a couple of days off per year while life flies by.

Happy life today everybody. Let’s follow our brothers and sisters and our beyond-the-binary fam and get out of the way of letting everyday be more like the vibes out here today. ✌️ 🌈 🫰

Kick back….. Walk back that stress.
Want to know something I love about Thai massage? Feet.

👣
I think feet feel like larger, super sturdy hands. Pressure can go even further, deeper, and feel more easy than hands do… especially if your practitioner has a lot of sensitivity and dexterity with their feet. Personally, I have trained my feet to have even more sensory control than my hands at some things.

👣
How good it feels to have the tension pulled out of your shoulders like this, I can’t even describe. Fortunately, I got *footage* of it ;).

👣
What do you think about foot stuff in massage? 😏
Have you ever had anything like this? Or as a therapist, do you have foot wisdom to drop?
