🐴 Why gently “jostle” the mane during bodywork?
That soft rhythmic movement along the neck and crest can help:
• encourage relaxation
• improve circulation
• release tension in the fascia and topline
• increase body awareness
• help horses soften through the neck and poll
Sometimes the smallest movements create the biggest releases. ✨
A relaxed neck often means a more comfortable, willing horse under saddle.

Prep looked like:
Massage every other week
Pilates + yoga for mobility & strength
Vibration plate for activation
Cupping, foam rolling, trigger point work
Most importantly listening to my body.
Resting when needed. Adjusting when needed.

Low back + hip tension? Try this 👇
Place the roller on the bulk of your glute, then rotate knee out and slowly kick in + out for about a minute. Remember to breathe 😮💨
This helps:
• Release deep hip tension
• Improve mobility
• Down-regulate your nervous system

How it shows up:
* Fine straight, stiff on circles
* Uneven bend/contact
* “Stuck” in one shoulder
* Shortened forelimb reach
How I treat it:
Don’t stay at the atlas first.
1. Go indirect
* Masseter / TMJ
* Base of ear
2. Then down the chain
* Brachiocephalicus
* Shoulder / withers
3. Return to atlas
* Light contact → wait → release
👉 Clear the chain first, then the poll will soften

This is one of my favorite ways to:
✨ get into that stubborn shoulder tension
✨ loosen up between the shoulder blades
✨ undo all the phone/computer posture
…all you need is a tennis ball 🎾
Honestly it’s like a mini massage when no one’s around 😅
Put the ball between your back + the floor
Lean into it and slowly move around
When you find that spot… pause
(you’ll know 😮💨)

Why I love using cupping on myself 🤍
