Great class next week in Morgantown, WV by Stacy Hester ! 👏💜🧡👃
“Got plans for Thursday, April 23rd? Spend the evening learning to make natural perfume!
The MAC is hosting me for a Slow Scent® Natural Perfume Basic Class. This introductory class was developed by renowned natural perfumer Mandy Aftel and is taught around the world by her students.
We’ll explore 18 natural essences and a system for blending them in an informed and intentional way.
You’ll create your own blend to take home, in a base of fractionated coconut oil and packaged in a rollerball bottle.
The concepts you’ll be introduced to can be useful in other endeavors involving scent (e.g., candles, soap) and even in cooking.
Thursday, April 23rd
6:00 to 8:30 pm
$60/student (materials included)
Reserve your spot at monartscenter.com “Classes and Events”.
Best for adults and for children who are interested in learning.”

“Like smelling a Rembrandt!”
[ on Patchouli Noir]
“Stop everything you are doing. Right Now! Go and get yourself a sample of Patchouli Noir by Aftelier Perfumes. Seriously, … you need to at least try it. It may not change your mind about patchouli but it will definitely make you think long and hard about what it is that you didn’t love about the note. Here it is done the same but totally differently. I often speak of fragrant chiaroscuro, the high-pitched brightness counterpointed by low keyed darkness, and Mandy is one of the most able practitioners of this duality. Do yourself a favour and get some Patchouli Noir on your skin.”

I’ve got a wonderful conversation for you to help you get the new year started off right.
The incomparable Mandy Aftel is back with a heartfelt conversation about her beautiful new book Symbolorum: The Secret Wisdom of Emblems.
Mandy shares how she came to write the book, what surprised her the most along the way, and why she believes it’s so valuable, and important, to learn from the past.
She also explains why she believes symbols are so magical, how writing this book was very similar to writing Essence & Alchemy, and how it ties in perfectly with her perfume work.
And you don’t want to miss hearing which emblems are some of her favorites (it really is hard to choose!).
This conversation is quintessential Mandy Aftel - inspiring and beautiful in every way.
