This looks dramatic, but it’s not always dangerous.
One possible cause is iron extravasation, where an iron infusion leaks outside the vein and into the surrounding tissue. Unlike standard IV fluids, iron can cause significant discoloration and staining that may persist for weeks or even months.
A good reminder that in medicine, appearance doesn’t always reflect severity.

One of the most common things patients ask after a tummy tuck:
“Why am I walking hunched over?”
During a tummy tuck, excess skin is removed and the abdomen is tightened significantly. Immediately after surgery, the skin and soft tissue are under tension which temporarily pulls the body forward while everything begins to relax and settle.

The surgery is important.

I do a lot of really fun things as a part of my job, as a part of my life. But these guys are WHY I do everything. We had an incredible time celebrating and ‘s engagement. Being with friends, family and the ones we care about to celebrate a momentous life event really gave me pause to think about how lucky we are and what incredible things we have to be grateful for.
OK, it was also just a really, really, really fun night with people that I love so we don’t need to get all mushy about it.
