Do you add LOWLIGHTS to your blondes ??
I usually do whenever I feel my blondes are losing their dimension so I tend to do it after summer esp if blondes get so light over summer sun ☀️

I was in shock when I heard about the closing of Umberto Salon … of coarse I knew it was going to happen one day… I was So sad to hear about fire at Portia Via which caused smoke damage to the salon. Sometimes decisions happen organically.
This salon was my family for over 20 years . I got the job in early 90’s . There was NO OTHER salon like this . I felt so lucky & blessed to work at this incredible beautiful salon! A hair Institution in the heart of Beverly Hills that housed the most talented hairstylists. I was surrounded and felt privileged to be part of this amazing creative team .
Besides seeing & working on so many celebrities and getting wonderful opportunities from Umberto I made lifelong friendships & built an Amazing clientele
I was so lucky to be one of the ones who got to assist Umberto and learn from him .Besides being so talented , he’s so funny , (lots of laughs) & also lots of long hours & hard work !!
I am so grateful to Umberto & Babette who taught me proper work ethics - the Foundation of being a Professional Hairstylist ..
Umberto was always upstairs cutting hair - If not, he was walking around, saying hi to everyone & all the clients in the salon.
It made everyone feel so special.
I will always remember FUN TIMES I had

The Salon Holiday parties were the BEST!!
The Opportunities Umberto Gave me working with him on photo shoots ..
So many memories… as his assistant His daughter Pilar, who I thought would come in all the time and get her hair done, was just so normal , so grounded.. didn’t want anyone fuss over her.. the sweetest nicest person to all of Umberto‘s assistants.. I remember thinking
He’s such a good dad And he loved everyone who worked in his “house”.
He helped so many Hairstylists who were in trouble… such a generous man.
When I’m in area I always stop in to visit & say Hi to Umberto , Babette & my Umberto FAM!
I will miss walking in these doors but my memories and my tine there will be in my heart FOREVER!!

😀 Its always fun when a client wants to try a
NEW COLOR or DIFFERENT HIGHLIGHTS
but sometimes it doesn’t always work out!!
🩷 As Hairstylist we do a lot of work to get it exactly close to the INSPO PIC and after we are SO EXCITED with the results
BUT if the client doesn’t love it on them 😗 ITS OK
🩷 I always try to explain that it may take a couple of appointments to get it back to the original look. It’s not as easy as it sounds…. especially when you’re doing any kind of coppers tones …. Which is one of the hardest colors to keep and it’s also one of the hardest colors to get rid of or tone down
🙏🙏 it’s super important you explain to the client and have GOOD COMMUNICATION so they understand & know expectations
THEY DON’T Know or understand that it may not be easy to get back original color or that it may take couple of appointments 😉
BUT if u explain it properly there is no confusion ☺️
⚡️⚡️This AFTER took two appointments of her coming in to get it back to the original Color.
I wish I had a good picture or a video after we did the copper brown tone. It was very dark in the salon & the lighting wasnt good …. This happens in the winter when it gets dark at 4 o’clock.!! 😩

I think it’s just super important to ask your client if they are going to style their hair like their INSPO PIC??
Are they gonna blow it out❓use the hair rollers❓
All of that is going to determine how short I’m gonna go in my layers and in my face frame.
‼️ and it’s super important to show your client how to style their hair with round brush & the rollers so they CAN replicate it!
