LONG-COVID and MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE

MLD helps to produce more lymphocytes. On average our bodies move lymph 10-12 beats per minute; a MLD treatment can move the lymph 100-120 beats per minute. This increased movement then increases the production of lymphocytes.

Lymphocytes are a type of white blood cell in the immune system of most vertebrates; they include T-cells, B-cells, and innate lymphoid cells.

BCRL (Breast Cancer Related Lymphedema) once settled into the arm from the removal of the lymph nodes, is a condition that will have some results but not through MLD alone. MLD is paired with compression sleeves, mild exercises, and a range of physician recommended treatments to help the flow of the edema out of the arm and into the watershed.

The BRAIN and MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE

New studies have been targeting how the lymphatic system and drainage can help with the brain and the central nervous system. There has been a number of studies being done in the past 9 years (since 2015) and there have been significant discoveries of how MLD can assist in the moving of the lymph through the brain to help with brain and CNS dysfunctions. MLD alone is not the cure but has been shown to help in improving some of these dysfunctions.
