Anxiety. It wreaks havoc on your married life, your parenting life, your social life, every aspect of life…

What if? So many what if’s! 🤦🏻‍♀️

It’s exhausting & can be downright debilitating, but it doesn’t have to be that way!

Journaling is an incredible way to help remind you what goals you’ve accomplished & which ones still need improving. 𝙒𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣 reflections from the day is a great way to spark your brain; increasing cognitive, as well as emotional support to your body. When we physically write something on paper, it ignites a fire so to speak in your brain. It activates large regions of the brain responsible for thinking, language, healing and memory. Incredible, right?! But that’s not all. —— “Handwriting forces us to slow down and smell the ink. Another often-overlooked benefit of writing by hand is that it just plain forces us to slow down and enjoy the moment. A novelty in today’s world where immediacy reigns. Mindful writing rests the brain, potentially sparking creativity.” — Dr. Claudia Aguirre

Daily reminder-
Stop worrying so much about what other people think (I know, easier said than done right?!) and just do you. You’re not gonna be everyone’s cup of tea & that’s okay. 😝

So we took family pictures this evening and it got me thinkin’…
~ how often do we pretend to be happy
~ how often do we put on a brave face when we’re actually terrified
~ how often do we hide behind others
~ how often do we overreact to petty things
~ how often do we feel exhausted but keep pushing forward

All of this is me 9 times outta 10. In honor of I want to break the stigma that your life has to be “picture perfect” all of the time. I want you to know you’re not alone! And I want you to know that I’m here for you whenever those overwhelming feelings come creeping back in!🥰

I took this picture after we had just wrapped up with our amazingly patient photographer this evening! After the kids were done; they’d absolutely had enough. I captured a moment where these kids were genuinely happy, despite having just had so many overwhelming emotions.
So the takeaway here is this-
when you’re feeling overwhelmed, just roll around in the grass and let loose. 😝
But seriously, when you’re feeling down just look up, and take in all that is good around you!

That first picture. Look at those sad eyes. 😔 This was immediately after my Lulu bug 𝙖𝙘𝙘𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 dropped a bowl while she was washing her dishes.

Not long ago I shared a repost about children & spilled milk… it basically said you can clean up spilled milk but a broken spirit over your (over)reaction will last much longer. That stuck with me!
And that broken spirit is exactly what I saw in those eyes when I ran into the kitchen to make sure everyone was okay. I wasn’t angry at her, but she didn’t know that; at least not right away.
So I picked her up & took her aside (away from all the broken glass) so I could explain to her that I knew this was an accident & I was more worried about her getting hurt on the glass than I was about the broken bowl. You should’ve seen that sweet face light up when she realized she wasn’t in trouble.

Sometimes it’s difficult. Sometimes I yell. Sometimes I get really angry over mistakes made, but I treasure teachable moments like these. Create an environment where your children feel loved and know that it’s okay to make mistakes! That’s where the true treasure lies.

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” ~ Proverbs 22:6

Why is it soo difficult for us momma’s to treat ourselves? I mean, we are constantly doing for everyone else so we’ve earned it, right?!

You’re darn right you’ve earned it! How can you do all the things; run a household, work, feed your family, etc. if you don’t care for yourself?! Don’t think of it as selfish, think of it as self-care!

You’re welcome.

Drop a ♥️ below if you’re going to treat yo’self! 🙌🏽

Technology isn’t going anywhere, but I have to admit some days I wish it never existed.

Struggling to find balance in the day to day routine & how to incorporate what is the right amount of screen time is tough. This goes for myself, too.

Ya see, being in this industry I feel like my face should constantly be in front of the camera; I always need to be doing or providing for you. And while that’s true to a point, it shouldn’t consume me. So I’m learning, trying to find balance.

What do you find helps balance how much time you spend using technology? Let me know in the comments below.
