The best compliment I can receive as a barber is when someone comes in with a hat on, and leaves their hat behind when I am done.

Trying to make up for a bit of lost time at work this week. If anybody needs a Sunday haircut, I'm very available. Who knows, if this goes well you may be open every Sunday.

The state of the shop is funky! Funk is our specialty. You can go to the bank with that. I have expanded our hours. We are now open Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. . If you need anything after hours please dial 205-243-9419.

Our current needs are as follow.

1: I need someone with a long ladder to help me put up more posters! Our generous clients have overwhelmed me with wall art! While this is a good thing, I need help getting it up there. I am willing to exchange haircuts for labor.

2: I am also in the need of picture frames design for 33 RPM records. I have recently Unearthed very many records I forgot I had.

I hope you are doing well. I hope your hair looks bad at the moment. You need to come see me about that. Till then, love, peace, hair grease, and soul.

The shop will open at 12 today. I'm going to see how things go, and try to keep regular business hours after that. Masks required. $15 gets you a cut and shave

Hello, friends of the Hippodrome. Unfortunately I feel the need to shut down the shop for a while. We've had a covid-19 scare. I feel like it's in my best interest, and in the best interest of our valued clients for me to shut doors until further notice. Feel free to hit me up here or at the shop number. I may be able to accommodate your needs on a limited basis. In the meantime, if you need to find another barber, I will be happy to help you do so. There are plenty of good barbers in town, and I thank you for your patronage. If I may be braggadocious, those good Barbers I was talking about don't have as cool of a shop as the Hippodrome. Hopefully we'll be seeing you soon.

Farewell to a great barber shop. Bob Blevins offered me my first job in barbering over 20 years ago. Bob retired recently after over 60 years of serving Birmingham. His shop was all class. I wish Mr Blevins a happy retirement, and thank you for the lather machine! I promise to keep it well maintained. The hot lather will flow like fine wine for years and years to come.
