BEWARE

I have been a licensed electrologist for over 25 years and moved to Bluffton in 2012.

I have been very fortunate to treat women and men from all over the area. Within the past year or so, I have been re-treating people who have been going to other "electrologists" and "professionals" in the area, especially in Bluffton, who have sustained terrible results. These women have had their skin pitted and singed with scabbing and red bumps to the point that many are now scarred.

Please beware that electrolysis should NOT be unbearably painful and leave marks well beyond the appointment time. Some redness and a scab or 2 are part of the healing process, but should NEVER be a normal reaction to treatment.

Make sure your electrologist is trained by an accredited electrolysis school, NOT a cosmetology school. Electrolysis is a procedure that requires thousands of practice hours and EXPERIENCE to obtain permanent results. Most states require you pass the state licensing exam. Unfortunately, South Carolina is not one of those states. As such, this allows anyone to open a shop and claim to be a professional electrologist. Please do your research and make sure your electrologist meets the criteria above. Below are photos of women who were treated by an INEXPERIENCED electrologist.
