Friendly reminder as of today we are officially part of the Sun Kissed Hair Salon & Tanning family! Please go like the page if you haven’t already.

We’ve been made aware there is a bit of confusion and people spreading misinformation. So we would like to address the misinformation and end the confusion. To break it down:

1)Yes, this is our last weekend as Rebellious Roots Salon & Spa. Starting Tuesday we will be part of the Sun Kissed Hair Salon & Tanning family. Sun Kissed is owned by Ashley McClendon which many of you met when she was offering sugar waxing in the spa.

2)Jessica, Raven and Lexi are NOT leaving.

3)Yes, Holly Ramsey, LMT sold the buildings and is moving out of Boaz but she is NOT leaving either. The opportunity to sale came up and since her husband retired last fall, theirs plans to move and travel some is the only reason she sold. Her and Kindrel Clark, LMT will still be here offering massage services. Some services have changed and there are some we won’t be offering for now but after the transition we may bring some of those services back and even add some new ones.

4)Today is Bobby W Bruce Jr, LMT, LLC last day. He is not leaving due to the sale or because he didn’t want to stay on with the new owner. He was given a new job opportunity that benefits him and his family more and he took it. Holly will also be involved in the new opportunity but as of right now until they have all the legal aspects worked out it will be kept under wraps. Please don’t message either to ask because they will not answer. There will be a post made once they can share all the news.

✨Important update for our massage clients!✨

A few changes coming up as we transition over to new ownership and join the Sun Kissed family.

We do have some services we will no longer be offering at the moment. After our transition we may slowly add a few of them back and possibly a few new things as well. Couples massage (when available) now will have to be done in separate rooms. We will no longer be booking appointments for each other. You will need to reach out to us directly to book or you can book online. We are swapping to a new booking system this week so we will have a new website which we will add to our LMT pages. Remember if you don’t see a day or time available you need, then reach out and we can put you on the waiting list.

All clients will be required to place a card on file in order to book. All new clients must put a 50% non refundable deposit down. Since we have new booking software even if you have seen us in the past you be considered “new” to the system so it will require you to put a deposit down the first time you book with the new system if booked online. Each time you book now you will have to fill out an updated intake form. You will also have the consent to treat, Covid 19, Client conduct & cancellation policy reminder sent every single appointment for you to check that you’ve read and understand all policies. Please take the time to read them. It takes less than 5 mins to do and in the end it will help us to provide the best care for you.

We will be posting the price list again for those that missed it along with our service menu and website/booking link. We will be able to take Cash/Venmo/Apple Pay/ Debit & credit cards.

It’s been a long 5 1/2 weeks but I have been cleared to come back to work!

Please be patient with me starting back. Like last time I’m going to be taking things slower the first few weeks as a precaution. I won’t be taking as many clients per day or working every day Tuesday - Saturday but I will get you in as soon as I can. We have grown so much since Rebellious Roots opened in 2018. We wouldn’t be where we are today if it had not been for all of the love and support you have shown us over the last 6 1/2 years.

When I purchased the salon from Jessica I told her I had big plans for our little salon and I promised to love it as much as her and to continue on her dreams through mine. Jess, I hope I’ve made you proud and you have enjoyed watching the business grow just as much as I have. Thank you for trusting me to continue what you started.

I have loved being the owner of such a successful small business with some of the best stylists and LMTs by my side. Thanks to them and the support from all of you I was able to make my dreams a reality. You’ll never know how grateful I am for each and every single one of you.But now it’s time for the next chapter of my life to start.

February 28th will be the last day Rebellious Roots Salon & Spa will be open. Before you freak out just know that Jessica, Raven, Lexi, Kindrel and myself will be staying here with the new owner. Ashley McClendon purchased my buildings so as of March 1st she will take over and we will all be joining the Sun Kissed Hair Salon & Tanning family. I’m so excited for Ashley and couldn’t think of a better person to take over the beautiful salon we created. She has big plans for the continued growth of Sun Kissed so it makes my heart happy knowing as I move on to this next chapter of my life one of her biggest dreams is coming true. I can’t wait to see the continued growth and success of another small business.

Please know this decision was not one I expected to make any time soon. I had 3 major life decisions come up within a weeks time and everything just fell into place. As I stated earlier Kindrel and I will be staying so massage will still be available. After this month couples massage will not be available until I’m cleared to return from surgery. We may be swapping booking systems. We will announce it and remind you when you reach out to book if we do change over because forms will have to be filled out and cards be placed on file again. We will be sticking with the new prices posted recently and we will have an updated list of services soon. I will update everyone on Bobby once his plans are decided. ‼️If you have a package or valid gift certificate for a facial service please reach out soon to get those booked with him.‼️ I have also had another business opportunity come up so I will share details on that once I can.

Once again, thank you all so much for the love and support over the last 6 1/2 years. We hope you continue to come see us and enjoy meeting all the talented girls we will be working along side with. We are looking at trying to get our pages combined together but until then I will plan to leave this page up for a bit after the closing of RR.
