Jesus said “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My FATHER will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him." John 14:23 This is a promise worth focusing on today when we honor our fathers. Thank You, Father GOD, for loving us so generously.

TO ALL YOU SPURS FANS!
Our hearts may be a little heavy today after our Spurs took a tough loss last night. We love our team, we love the grind, and we always want to see that "W" on the scoreboard. Reading the Apostle Paul's words this morning in Philippians 3:8, Paul didn't mince words. He was radically blunt about what truly matters. He wrote: "Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ." So how do you think Paul would write the post-game report for a loss like this?

Maybe something like this: The Final Score is Temporary: Wins, losses, championship rings, and pristine season records are things the world values deeply—but in the grand scheme of eternity, it's "skubalon" (the literal Greek word for rubbish, trash, or refuse). The ULTIMATE PRIZE doesn't change. A loss on the court doesn't change our standing in the only game that matters. Earthly trophies gather dust, but knowing Jesus is a prize that never fades!

I think he would remind us to never let our joy depend on earthly outcomes. We can love our Spurs and still recognize that even the greatest sports franchise on earth is nothing compared to the infinite worth of knowing Christ.

Losing a game hurts for a day, but His grace sustains us forever. Dusting ourselves off, keeping the faith, and looking forward to the next chapter—both on the court and in our spiritual walks!
Go Spurs Go, and y'all have a blessed Sunday! 🏀✝️

This is so true and this legendary physician, educator, and medical statesman whose career spanned over 75 years, and who performed some of the first heart transplants, no doubt had prayed for the healing of others OFTEN and knew first-hand about this healing!

As we prepare to worship the Lord today, this is time to REMEMBER those who gave the ultimate sacrifice protecting our American freedom, including the right to gather and worship freely. "For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrated His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.” Romans 5:6-9. The soldiers who went to war and died - experiencing the horrors and ravages of war, most of us who never experienced that will never comprehend. They were willing to die so we could live and enjoy our freedom. Let us never forget their sacrifice! Let us also never forget Jesus Christ was willing to go to the Cross and die in our place so that we could experience eternal life, the ultimate freedom! He experienced the full wrath of God for OUR sin. Without our soldiers' sacrifices, we would not have freedom. Without the perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ - we would not have freedom eternally! This is a day to be GRATEFUL for those sacrifices! 🙌
