Some exciting updates are taking shape at Spaulding Ranch and along the Tuttle Lateral in West Boise. We're adding important connections for neighbors and community members as outlined by the city's Pathways Master Plan. The soon-to-be constructed Tuttle-Spaulding Pathway will expand access to Capital High School, Milwaukee Park and other nearby schools. This pathway will provide a safe and accessible bicycle and pedestrian connection for users of all ages and abilities, knitting together Boise’s West Bench neighborhoods.

Nothing like a quick tending of the pumpkins and trash pickup at Spalding Ranch to help wake up.

The summer heat is here too stay I believe. Friendly reminder that if you plan on putting product in your beard, please do so AFTER cleaning up afterwards. Any product, especially oils, love to gather all that dust and grit.
Work hard, play hard, take care of the beard!

Hello Beards and those the sport them!

This is something I have been very excited about for a while now (at least two weeks). A local farmers market that is on a Thursday! Sweet. Nothing like swing by, picking up some fresh produce for dinner from a local farm. Or even pick up dinner from one of the many food vendors. Oh. And the coffee. YUM! I had a double espresso from Three Fates coffee. Good stuff.

There is an upcoming event at the local Spauding Ranch should you be interested. I went to the one last week where Ariel Agenbroad, the local UofI ... umm "Area Extension Educator" had a wonderful presentation on how to care for fruit trees. Pretty cool stuff. Highly recommended if you can make it on a Friday ;)

We've got another Fridays on the Farm on deck this Friday, June 6 from 9 a.m. to noon at Spaulding Ranch. In this workshop, you will learn about the multiple systems that bring natural water and irrigation to the Spaulding Ranch farm, orchard and naturalized areas, and how they are all connected. You will discover how crops are irrigated on site, how to conserve water while growing healthy crops, and what tools and technologies are available.

When we made the decision to follow our dream of purchasing the house to move the shop into we never dreamed it would be so near such a great community hub. Yes, it is in the works, but that means we get to be part of it. There has been an amazing amount of effort put forth by all kinds of truly great people.
