June markets are looking pretty fun!
If you’ve been wanting to stop by and smell things, try things, ask questions, or just say hi, here’s where I’ll be this month.
I’d love to see you there!

Little break coming up!
Just a heads up that I’ll be taking a little time away to celebrate birthdays with my people and soak up some family time.
Orders are still open until the cutoff dates above, so if you’ve been meaning to grab something, now’s the time 🙂
Anything ordered after the cutoff dates (or pickups not picked up by the end of May 27th) will start processing again June 9th.
And if youre local and need anything before 6/9, you can always visit one of the shops I’ve got products in (see pinned post for locations)!
As always, thank you for being here and supporting me! 🤍

UPDATED! How is it already May?! I swear it was just the 87th of January 😂
I’ve got a full month of markets and pop ups coming up, and I would love to see you!
The Mother’s Day market weekend Victory Gardens Nursery is always SO much fun for the whole family, I’m *extra* looking forward to that one.
But they’re all going to be amazing. SO! If you’ve been eyeing something, waiting to restock, or just want to try before you commit, you have quite a few chances this month.
Everything will be out to test, and I’m always happy to walk you through what actually makes sense for your skin.
Save this so you don’t forget where I’ll be, and come find me!

I usually have this ready a little earlier… But with the big uptick in ticks this year (no pun intended), I specifically wanted to add cedarwood to it - so I was just waiting on that oil to be delivered!
Every oil in here has a role:
🌳 Cedarwood is one of the better oils for ticks, and it also helps with mosquitoes, fleas, and other little pests
🦟 Citronella is well known for mosquitoes and also helps with things like gnats and other flying insects
🌺 Geranium is great for mosquitoes and ticks
🍃 Patchouli helps with fleas and even things like ants, and it tends to stick around a little longer
🪻Lavender helps with mosquitoes, moths, and fleas, and also calms the skin if you do get bit
🪴Rosalina is super gentle and adds a little extra support for mosquitoes and gnats
🍊Grapefruit keeps everything fresh and lightly supports flying insects
Please note: if you’re used to conventional bug sprays, this works a little differently - it’s plant based, so it doesn’t last quite as long and you’ll want to reapply often
but it’s a really nice option if you’re looking for something simpler and more skin friendly
It’s available through my website, will be at my upcoming markets and also directly through me!
& as always, questions are always welcome!
wait… did you know I make an eye balm?
this one has quietly been one of my best sellers and I don’t think I’ve even talked about it on here
I make it with grass fed and finished tallow, beeswax, and argan oil & infuse it with rosemary, chamomile, jasmine green tea, and marshmallow root
I chose those specifically for the eye area;
things that feel calming, help support the skin, and work with how delicate that area is instead of overwhelming it
the under eye area is thinner and way more prone to dryness, which is usually why fine lines show up so fast and that tired look creeps in
this helps soften that by conditioning the skin so it looks smoother and more “filled in” without ever feeling heavy
it adds just enough slip that if you do wear makeup, it sits better instead of grabbing onto dry spots, but even on its own it just makes the whole area feel calm, supported, and a lot more like your skin again
it goes on super smooth and a tiny amount is all you need
& this is one that the guys keep coming back for too
so if your under eyes have been looking a little tired lately, this might be your thing!
questions? I’m always here to help!

my products start here…
with suet from pasture raised cows, eating only grass & raised the way they’re supposed to be
that part matters
because not all tallow is the same, and you can feel the difference
rendered low and slow, nothing overly processed, nothing stripped down
just clean, nutrient dense tallow
the kind that melts into your skin instead of sitting on top of it
the kind that smells clean, buttery, and barely there
🤍

Somewhere between the big sunglasses and the pigtails, this little girl figured out what she was meant to do. She just didn’t know it yet.
It wasn’t until she had a little one of her own with sensitive & eczema prone skin that it all finally made sense.
Every product at Fauna/Flora Naturals is still made with that same curiosity, that same care, and so much love poured into every single product that leaves her hands.
That little girl and the woman she’s grown into are so grateful for every single one of you. 🤍

Popped into Evvie Beans Baby Boutique to do a little restock, the other day!
If you haven’t been in there yet, YOU ARE MISSING OUT!
It’s the sweetest little locally owned shop run by a fellow mama. The tiniest clothes, the cutest baby gifts, and honestly everything in there is *almost* enough to make me want another little one. ALMOST.
And I’m so grateful she carries a couple of my balms there too. You’ll find the chamomile & calendula whipped balm, which is wonderful for sensitive baby skin (or nursing mama!), and the lavender whipped balm, a favorite for before bed.
Go give her a follow and definitely stop in & check out the shop if you haven’t yet. I guarantee you’ll find something in there for the littles in your life!

The quality of tallow starts long before it becomes skincare.
Let’s get into it.
It all starts at the source.
FAT
Suet vs Trim Fat
Suet is the firm fat surrounding the kidneys. It’s naturally higher in stearic and palmitic acids, making it more stable and better suited for skincare. Trim fat is softer, often greasier, and carries more of that beefy scent. Because it’s more variable, it can feel heavier on the skin and isn’t ideal for leave-on products.
FEED
Grass fed & Finished vs “Grass Fed”
You’ll often see “grass fed” without any mention of how the animal was finished. All cattle eat grass at some point. What matters is whether they stay on pasture their entire lives or are moved to a feedlot and finished on grain.
Grass fed *and* finished means pasture raised from start to finish rather than being moved to a feedlot and finished on grain.
What the animal eats directly affects the fatty acid composition of the fat, including omega balance and fat soluble nutrients, which shapes the overall profile of the tallow. When the pasture is managed without herbicides (no spray) and with regenerative grazing practices, you’re starting with cleaner inputs from the very beginning.
RENDERING
Dry vs Wet
Dry rendering uses low heat and no added water. Wet rendering introduces water to separate the fat from connective tissue, and that water must then be fully removed. Because tallow is primarily fat, most of its key components are fat soluble, but added water and extra processing steps can change texture, scent, and overall consistency. Slow, dry rendering keeps the process simple and the final fat more predictable and stable.
& When you’re putting something on your skin daily, these little details really aren’t so small.
