Maddie’s Wine, Whiskey, & Tapas is celebrating their 2nd anniversary today (9/12) and tomorrow (9/13) and Ace of Fades is proud to join with them to celebrate! Our barbers have donated $40 gift certificates that can be used toward any service! Come on out and enjoy great food and drinks and the chance to win a gift certificate for your favorite barber!

Ace of Fades Barbershop came about for our son, Wyatt, and his lifelong best friend Gavin. They named it and Wyatt shared his very detailed vision for the shop and what was important to him as a barber. It was centered around a welcoming and comfortable place for clients and barbers. He had such a connection with his clients and it was so important to him that they felt seen. We planned and worked together in the pursuit of an amazing barbershop. The logo was designed and barber chairs and tool chests were ordered. We were making the dream become reality.
And then we got the call that brings you to your knees as you cry in agony. Wyatt had committed su***de. Our world stopped that very moment.
In the coming days John and I spent time with Wyatt’s older brother, Cody, deciding if we should continue this pursuit. It was decided that it is what Wyatt would have wanted and what Gavin needed.
With blood, sweat and more tears than we ever thought possible, the reality and legacy of Ace of Fades Barbershop began.

While those left behind are forced to move forward, it is with a new reality that you left us. You thought we would be okay, and what you didn’t know is that okay will never be the same. We are scared, sad, angry, but most of all wishing you were here. We could have faced the struggles together. Su***de may feel like the answer to your problems. In reality, it creates huge holes in all the lives you touched, forever. Su***de is not the answer. Talking to someone, anyone, that will listen can save a life.

We are strong advocates for su***de awareness and prevention. Talking about it and removing the stigma around the word can save a life. Talk to those you love, check on them, hug them and let them know you are there for them. Whether it’s 3am or 1pm. Be a lifeline. You just could save a life.
