These menorahs are very special as the pottery used to make them was excavated from the place where the Maccabees lived in Israel. While we were in Israel earlier this year, we participated in an archaeological dig. While we couldn’t take the actual pottery shards we dug up because they needed to be analyzed by the lab, we were able to take pottery shards that were already analyzed by the lab. Then we made them into menorahs from the time of Maccabees.
