Another interesting and informative MLD certification class in Austin, Texas! NIcola McGill has returned to Austin for a Klose Training 45-hour certification class. This is her 11th year teaching MLD in Austin at The Lauterstein-Conway Massage School. I had the opportunity to attend the Mountain States Cancer Conference today at Anschutz Medical Center at the University of Colorado in Denver. There were updates on the latest treatments for Breast, Prostate, Lung and GI cancers as well as an informative presentation on Immunotherapy Toxicity Management, Approach to the Older Patient with cancer and the most heart warming discussion on Making the best decisions at the End-of-Life... One of the key points I took from this one particular lecture was " Help your patient find sources of strength, allowing them to make decisions not through the lens of pain, but through a lens of comfort" This is a huge reminder of how we as therapists can play an integral role in their transition .
