DAY 4… and the raw liver challenge is over 🛑
Not because I got sick. Not because of “vitamin A toxicity.” I felt fantastic. Energy was high, I slept great, and I had zero negative effects.
For three straight days I ate about 1.5 pounds of raw liver per day. I wasn’t even close to experiencing anything that made me think, “This is vitamin A toxicity.”
The only reason I stopped? My body simply didn’t want more liver. I listened to it instead of forcing it.
I’ve also eaten roughly 0.7 pounds every other day for years without any noticeable negative effects.
That’s the bigger lesson.
People become obsessed with biomarkers, wearables, apps, blood tests, and optimizing every number. Bryan Johnson has popularized that data-driven approach, but I think there’s a danger in relying so heavily on numbers that you stop paying attention to what your own body is telling you.
Your body gives you feedback every day. Learn to recognize the difference between discomfort that helps you grow and a genuine signal that it’s time to change course.
As for liver, my experience doesn’t match the fear surrounding it. Three days at 1.5 pounds a day produced no noticeable negative effects for me, and I’ve eaten much smaller amounts regularly for years without issues. That’s my personal experience—not a recommendation for everyone.
The moral of the story: your body is the ultimate feedback system. Learn to listen to it.

Everyone says you’ll get vitamin A toxicity from eating liver.
I’m putting that claim to the test.
Day 2:
• 1.5 pounds of raw beef liver
• My only meal of the day
• Eaten partially frozen, dipped in hot melted butter with salt
Results so far:
✅ Slept incredibly well.
