This isn’t about politics — it’s about children.

We’ve learned that some students at schools on post are coming to class hungry or without basic hygiene items. Even though there are family aid programs and food pantries, many of these kids:
• Only get shelf-stable items meant to be shared with the whole family
• Burn extra calories from sports and practices
• Stay quiet to avoid burdening their parents
• Sometimes even give their food to younger siblings

Teachers and staff have been quietly trying to help — sneaking food to students — but their resources are running out.

Let’s step up together. 💪

🥫 We’re Hosting a Food & Hygiene Drive

When:
• Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Saturday: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Where:
📍 1141 High Street, Brandenburg, KY
Inside Rivertown Plaza (gray brick building where The Messenger is located)

🧃 Items Needed:
• Individually wrapped snacks (granola bars, beef sticks, applesauce, fruit cups, etc.)
• Protein drinks
• Deodorant
• Body wash
• Toothpaste
• Kroger gift cards
• Gas cards

The schools on post don’t receive free breakfast or lunch, unlike others in our area — and many families are struggling on reduced or no income due to government shutdown.

Every donation helps make sure no child sits in class hungry or embarrassed for lacking essentials.
Let’s show our military families they’re not alone. ❤️🇺🇸

•tooth paste
•Kroger Gift Cards
•Gas Cards

Items can be dropped off from 8:30am-5pm Friday or 10am-2pm Saturday
