✨ Not every breakout is acne.
One of the most common things I hear is:
“I’ve tried every acne product, and nothing is working.”
Here’s why…
Not every breakout is acne vulgaris. Some breakouts may actually be Malassezia folliculitis (commonly called “fungal acne”), which is caused by an overgrowth of yeast within the hair follicles. Because the underlying cause is different, the skincare products and medications used to manage it are different, too.
🔹 Acne vulgaris
• Often includes blackheads and whiteheads (comedones)
• Lesions vary in size and type
• May respond to ingredients like salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, retinoids, and prescription medications when appropriate.
🔹 Malassezia folliculitis (“fungal acne”)
• Often appears as small, uniform red bumps or tiny pustules
• Frequently itches
• Here’s where it gets tricky: those tiny pustules can sometimes look like whiteheads, but they are not true whiteheads (closed comedones). Instead of a clogged pore, they’re caused by inflammation within the hair follicle related to an overgrowth of yeast.
• Does not produce blackheads or true comedones.
• Typically responds to antifungal skincare or medication rather than traditional acne treatments.
✨ The biggest takeaway?
The correct diagnosis leads to the correct treatment plan.
At Belle Phases, every client begins with a personalized skin assessment. I evaluate your skin, identify what’s most likely contributing to your breakouts, and develop a customized treatment plan based on your individual needs. That plan may include professional treatments, medical-grade skincare, lifestyle recommendations, and—when appropriate—prescription medications through our collaborating nurse practitioner.
🤍 If you’ve been struggling with stubborn breakouts, don’t give up. There is hope. Sometimes the problem isn’t that your skin is untreatable—it’s simply that it hasn’t been correctly identified.
Consider this your sign to schedule your appointment. Together, we’ll determine what’s really causing your breakouts and create a personalized plan to help you achieve healthier, clearer skin.
✨ Healthy skin starts with the right diagnosis.
👀 Me over here trying to find the skincare license… 🔍😂
Social media is full of skincare “experts,” but likes and followers aren’t credentials.
Not all advice online is wrong—but before you try the latest viral skincare hack, ask yourself:
✔️ Is it backed by science?
✔️ Is it appropriate for my skin?
✔️ Is the person giving the advice actually trained and licensed?
I’ve seen everything from lemon juice and toothpaste to essential oils and DIY concoctions recommended for the skin. Unfortunately, some of these trends can do more harm than good.
Healthy skin isn’t about going viral—it’s about understanding skin biology, using evidence-based treatments, and creating a plan that’s right for your skin.
✨ Trust science. Trust education. Trust experience.

ROAD RASH RECOVERY + RED LIGHT THERAPY ✨
These photos are just 2 weeks apart.
After a significant road rash injury, Red Light Therapy was added to the healing process to help support the body’s natural recovery. While every injury heals differently, the progress in such a short amount of time is impressive.
Red Light Therapy works by stimulating the mitochondria (the powerhouse of our cells), increasing ATP production—the energy your cells need to repair damaged tissue.
Potential benefits include:
✨ Supports faster healing
✨ Reduces inflammation
✨ Helps decrease discomfort
✨ Boosts circulation
✨ Stimulates collagen and elastin production
✨ May help minimize scar formation by promoting healthier tissue remodeling
Red Light Therapy doesn’t replace proper wound care, but it can be an incredible tool to support your body’s natural healing process.
Whether you’re recovering from an injury, surgery, laser treatment, microneedling, or simply want to optimize your skin’s recovery, Red Light Therapy is one of my favorite non-invasive treatments because it works at the cellular level.
If you’ve been curious about Red Light Therapy, I’d be happy to answer your questions!

Beautiful Skin at Every Phase ✨
🦖 Even dinosaurs couldn’t outrun UV damage…
Maybe if the T-Rex had listened, things would’ve turned out differently. 😅
The truth is, up to 80–90% of visible skin aging is caused by sun exposure—not just getting older.
Not everyone experiences UV damage the same way. Some people develop freckles or brown spots. Others experience redness or broken capillaries. But one thing affects everyone…
UV exposure breaks down collagen.
Over time, that collagen loss contributes to:
✨ Fine lines & wrinkles
✨ Skin laxity
✨ Crepey texture
✨ Thinner, less resilient skin
The good news? It’s never too late to start protecting your skin.
☀️ Wear a broad-spectrum SPF every day—even when it’s cloudy.
✨ Support collagen with treatments like microneedling.
🔴 Add red light therapy to your routine.
🩵 Stay consistent with monthly skin maintenance.
Protect your collagen before it goes extinct.

Beautiful Skin Through Every Phase
✨ Top 5 Reasons to Schedule a Microdermabrasion, Dermaplaning, or Combination Treatment Every 4–6 Weeks
Healthy, glowing skin doesn’t happen by accident—it happens with consistency. Regular professional exfoliation helps keep your skin functioning at its best while enhancing the results of your skincare routine.
1. Reveal Brighter, Healthier Skin ✨
Regular exfoliation removes dull, dead skin cells to reveal a smoother, brighter, more radiant complexion.
2. Improve Product Absorption 💙
Freshly exfoliated skin allows your medical-grade skincare products to pe*****te more effectively, helping you get the most out of your home skincare routine.
3. Keep Skin Smooth & Refined 🌿
Routine treatments help minimize dead skin buildup, improve texture, reduce congestion, and leave your skin feeling soft, smooth, and refreshed.
4. Support a More Youthful Skin Renewal Cycle 🌸
As we age, our skin’s natural cell turnover slows. Scheduling professional exfoliation every 4–6 weeks helps remove accumulated dead skin cells and supports a healthier skin renewal cycle—similar to the more efficient turnover we experience in our younger years.
5. Maximize Your Results with Combination Therapy ⭐
Both Microdermabrasion and Dermaplaning are excellent standalone treatments, but when combined, they provide the ultimate exfoliation. This combination leaves your skin exceptionally smooth, radiant, and perfectly prepared for advanced treatments and medical-grade skincare.
✨ Why choose one when you can have both?
Your Microdermabrasion + Dermaplaning Combination Treatment is one of my favorite monthly maintenance treatments because it offers:
• Deeper exfoliation
• A smoother, softer skin texture
• Enhanced product absorption
• An instant healthy glow
• The perfect foundation for healthy, beautiful skin year-round
Consistency is one of the biggest secrets to maintaining healthy skin. Just like going to the gym or brushing your teeth, regular treatments help you achieve better long-term results than waiting until your skin is already struggling.

MORPHEUS8 ISN’T JUST FOR THE FACE & NECK…
Did you know Morpheus8 isn’t just for facial rejuvenation? One of the things I love most about this technology is that it can also be used on multiple areas of the body to improve skin quality and stimulate your body’s natural collagen production.
By combining radiofrequency (RF) energy with microneedling, Morpheus8 remodels collagen and elastin deep within the skin, helping to tighten, firm, and improve overall skin quality from the inside out.
Popular treatment areas include:
✨ Abdomen
✨ Upper arms
✨ Thighs
✨ Knees
✨ Above the knees
✨ Bra roll
✨ Flanks (“love handles”)
✨ Buttocks
✨ And many other areas experiencing mild to moderate skin laxity.
Today’s Spotlight: The Abdomen
Whether your skin laxity is the result of pregnancy, weight loss, or simply the natural aging process, Morpheus8 can help improve:
✔️ Mild to moderate skin laxity
✔️ Crepey skin
✔️ Fine lines and wrinkles
✔️ Uneven skin texture
✔️ Overall skin firmness and tone
What to Expect
⏱️ Treatment Time: Approximately 45–60 minutes
✨ Downtime: Mild redness, swelling, and tenderness are common for the first 2–5 days. Tiny treatment marks may be visible for up to a week, and most patients return to their normal daily activities within 24–48 hours.
💙 Is itching normal?
Yes! Many patients experience itching a few days after treatment. While it can catch you by surprise, it’s typically a normal part of your body’s inflammatory and histamine response as healing begins and new collagen is being produced. Although it can be annoying, it’s actually a common part of the healing process. Try not to scratch the treated area, and continue following your post-treatment skincare instructions.
🧬 Results: Improvements develop gradually as your body produces new collagen, with continued remodeling and tightening for up to 3 months after each treatment.
📅 How many treatments will I need?
Most patients achieve their best results with a series of 3 treatments. However, everyone’s skin is different. Depending on the degree of skin laxity, your treatment goals, and how your skin responds, some patients may benefit from up to 6 treatments for optimal improvement.
Morpheus8 is an excellent option for patients with mild to moderate skin laxity who want noticeable skin tightening without surgery. Patients with more advanced skin laxity may achieve better results with surgical body contouring.
Every treatment plan at Belle Phases Aesthetics By Rhiana is customized because no two patients—or their skin—are exactly alike.
If you’ve been wondering whether Morpheus8 can help an area beyond your face and neck, I’d love to discuss your goals during a consultation.

🚨 This is a perfect example of incorrect information.
Headlines like this are designed to grab your attention—but they don’t tell the whole story.
Just because sunscreen users have a higher rate of melanoma does not mean sunscreen causes melanoma.
People who wear sunscreen are often the very people who:
☀️ Spend the most time outdoors
☀️ Have fair skin
☀️ Burn easily
☀️ Already have a higher risk of skin cancer
That’s why it’s so important to understand the difference between correlation and causation before believing a sensational headline.
As a Licensed Aesthetician, I personally prefer mineral sunscreens containing zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. They provide excellent broad-spectrum UV protection and are my go-to recommendation, especially for sensitive skin and after aesthetic procedures.
While some chemical sunscreen ingredients have raised environmental concerns and have undergone additional safety review, protecting your skin from UV damage is still one of the most important things you can do.
Your skin deserves facts—not clickbait.
