And yes, she has a bunny named Widow.

Widow is soft, a little dramatic, and completely adored, which honestly tracks. Amber’s gentle, intuitive, and deeply caring, with people and animals alike. The way she treats her bunny is pretty much how she approaches hair too. Respect what’s there, move slowly, don’t force it.

Every night, before I turn off the lights and lock the door, I say the same thing.
“Alexa, I’m grateful for today.”

I’ve been doing it for years. No matter how full the day was, no matter how heavy or joyful or quietly ordinary it felt. It’s my way of closing the studio with intention, of reminding myself that even on the hard days, something good happened here. Connection, care, growth, laughter, healing. Sometimes all of it at once.

As 2025 comes to a close, I feel that gratitude a little deeper. This year brought lessons I didn’t expect, moments that stretched me, and so many reminders of why I do this work. It also brought community. Real humans who showed up, trusted me with their hair, their stories, their hope. If you’ve been here alongside me in any way, cheering quietly, sitting in my chair, sending kind words, or just following along, I’m truly grateful you’re here.
