Angie came in with a band of brown color at the top of her hair. She was over it and ready to just cover it all with a brown gloss. Blonde looks so great on her though so instead I went through and air touched thin slices to give her this super pretty blended blonde. It broke up the brown band so nicely, you would never even know it was there! That’s one of the great things about hair, almost all mistakes can be fixed. We toned her with a cooler blonde gloss using Redken shades eq in shades 9P+9GI+9V in equal parts with a little clear as well.

Choosing a shampoo that fits your hair’s current needs will never steer you wrong! If your hair has been compromised by chemicals a repairing shampoo with protein will help along with a repairing mask like this AMAZING set from LANZA. If your hair is dry, a hydrating shampoo and conditioner. If your hair is fine and flat a volumizing pair is your best friend. Got curls? A curl shampoo set is usually heavier and very moisturizing. Reds and blondes fade like crazy so here you’d want to use a color set to extend the vibrancy of your color or gloss.

Using the wrong kind has consequences y’all. If I use a volumizing set it’s too light and doesn’t feel hydrated enough. If your hair needs moisture but you add protein you can make your hair brittle. If someone with fine hair uses one for curly hair.. well you get it.

My client Lily is getting to enjoy the best thing about having lived in color like a balayage, today when she came to see me we could have brought up the pieces in the front if we really wanted to, but there were no lines, just a beautiful graceful grow out. Of course her toner from last time was gone, because that’s what they do. That’s actually one of the best things about a toner/gloss, they fade out so you can change up the tone for the season with no issues and more importantly, no damage!
