It’s happening.

In just a few short days my book will be released.

It is 446 pages.

Those 446 pages encompass the 249 journal entries and photographs chronicling our family’s journey through childhood cancer and the battle that birthed our mission.

It has taken eight months to get to this point from the day I signed the contract for this book.

Eight very long months.

But the wait is almost over.

Once the publisher gives us the green light, the book will officially be released to order through my website. And I’ll explain tomorrow why sharing our story and purchasing through our website is so important. Like so so important.

But I’ll tell you this…
I’m no pop star.

There is no dramatic unveiling of deep kept secrets.

I’m just a mom.

A mom of four warriors who have fought to find joy in our darkest days.

A mom of a cancer kid who overcame the impossible. Twice.

A mom of sibling warriors who watched helplessly on the sidelines.

A mom of simple words, guided by the Holy Spirit, and filled with the love of Jesus.

A mom with a mission to make sure no one ever battles alone.

And now our story of how we got here will be in print for all to read.

But I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little nervous.

Putting yourself out there means opening yourself up to the harshest critics and biggest possible failures. And the investment. The financial investment we made to see this project come to fruition is substantial.

Like, we need to sell 2,500 copies to break even, substantial.

But, Chris and I are believing in lives to be impacted through it. We felt in our hearts that God wanted us to share our story so we knew we needed to be obedient in seeing it through.

And at the end of the day, if not a single person buys it and we have to give away every single book that is being printed, then so be it.

Why? Because faith without action is dead.

And I don’t want to live with a faith that is lifeless.

Sometimes you have to take a step off the cliff without looking to what is below.

So here I am. Almost to the cliff.

The blindfold is on and it’s almost time to take the final step.

The one off and into the unknown.

The one where I’m not sure what is ahead, but only that I’m called to trust. To have faith. To believe.

Brady’s surgery to remove his port is on Tuesday. With any luck, the book may be released that day as well.

But that would be pretty crazy timing. Wouldn’t it?

Could it even be?

One chapter closes as another is beginning.

The one where, with the help of our friends, we get to share our story, our victory, with the world.

Here is to God’s absolutely perfect timing.
