Friends 🩷 If you’re new here—welcome! I’m Jess Owens, a hairstylist, content creator, and mom of two, and I’m beyond excited to finally share that I’m opening Carolina Color Bar! Carolina Color Bar By Jess Owens ( on instagram )

I’ve been in the beauty industry for over 10 years, specializing in blondes, balayage, and gray coverage. Before that, I worked in corporate marketing, but my true passion has always been creativity—whether behind the chair, in front of the camera, or sharing motherhood and beauty online.

First things first—THANK GOD for my clients! I truly wouldn’t be here without you. Your support, trust, and referrals mean everything to me, and I’m so grateful to have built this business with you by my side. 🤍

My new boss is officially 3 feet tall—My Daughter has made it very clear she’s running the show now. But in all seriousness, my kids are the reason I do everything. This dream isn’t just for me—it’s for them. To show them that hard work pays off, that passion leads the way, and that you can build the life you want with dedication (and maybe a few cups of coffee). ☕️

If you have an appointment with me, I’ll be at Sam and Bill's Hair Designs until April 10. After that, I’ll be moving to my new location near Crossroads in Cary! If you already have an appointment booked after that date, don’t worry—I’ll still honor it, just at my new address. I’ll send more details soon, I promise—things have been a little busy over here ✂️🙃

And last but never least—a huge thank you to my husband, Derek. He’s always backstage keeping me cool and calm, the best partner, and the best dad ever. I couldn’t do this without him. 🥹

As a color specialist, one of the best parts of my job is the close relationships I’ve built with so many of my clients—many of whom have become besties! I love getting to spend time with them, catching up, and making sure they leave my chair feeling amazing. Because I’m so focused on creating a positive experience for them, I don’t always remember to grab photos during our sessions.
