How to remove purple hair and go lighter 💜➡️✨
To make purple hair lighter, we first have to remove the purple pigment. Under most purple direct dyes there are usually pink and blue tones, so if we just color over it with a dark shade it can turn muddy or uneven.
In this case, I didn’t want to use bleach. Instead, I used dye remover to gently break down and remove the purple pigment from the hair. This helps lift the color without unnecessary damage and prepares the hair for the next step.
