Yesterday’s before/after transformation was quite dramatic. This client was spending a half hour drawing in brows every day. She will need a second appointment in 6 weeks so I can deposit some more pigment and sharpen up her end result.

Part 1 of my course is complete. Now, I have to practice daily and return for part 2 at the end of September. From there, I can start my apprenticeship when my instructor feels I’m ready. This is very delicate work and I hold myself to an extremely high standard. I want to make sure my work is very solid before I work on clients.
This has been a great experience and Cassandra Schorn Nano Brows, Micropigmentation & Esthetics is not only an incredible teacher, but she’s an outstanding human being. I am so grateful the universe brought her to me. 🥰

You have to be able to create perfectly measured and symmetrical brows down to the millimeter out of nothing… and then you have to make them look like they’ve always been there. Some people have no hair at all, so you have to make it, and it has to be even and perfect before touching machine to skin.
My mannequin Gloria is going to be getting a workout… as this must be practiced daily until I’m skilled enough to apprentice.
This is my life now. Breaking those boards in karate gave me a wicked case of arthritis, which I will need to just deal with as I build hand strength. This is incredibly difficult, rewarding and I’m obsessed. 🤩

It’s a great day at Emblem Skin & Ink! I’m enjoying learning this process more than I can express! This skill will take my love of skincare and brow shaping to the next level. The ability to correct a client’s brows is exciting to me. Your brows anchor your entire face, and if they are sparse, the wrong shape or non existent, having the ability to change that can bring such confidence.

Tomorrow I will learn my machine. Can’t wait!! This is something I have wanted to do for over a decade. My instructor is phenomenal in her artistry.

This client came to her with a heavy brow that had been previously tattooed by another practitioner. The client wanted something lighter and softer. Old work was lasered off and today she had her first application of Nano brows… which are fine hair strokes. She will need to come back in 6 to 8 weeks for a touch up after the initial healing phase.

I wanted to learn this so badly, that I sought this instructor out and wore her down over coffee until she agreed to bring me on as an apprentice 😂 I’m very persuasive 🥰

At my age, there’s no time to waste!! I want to learn all that I can to make my business the best it can be and to give my clients fantastic services with the latest technological advances.

I'm posting my booking info here... as the busy season for skincare is on the horizon. Running a small business is hard work and I have to share my most recent developments.

I am placing an order for a new skincare line for both back bar and retail. "Hale and Hush" is the only professional line tailored for extremely sensitive and health challenged skin. It is the leading choice for oncology patients and clients with highly sensitive and reactive skin. I researched many lines before making the decision to carry Hale and Hush. I also carry PCA Skincare. Between these 2 lines, there's something to treat every skin condition.

I am also excited to be starting my journey with permanent makeup and will be looking for clients who would like to have their brows done. A few of you have already expressed interest! This summer goth breaks out in a rash when I’m in the sun. ☀️ I’m very photosensitive. I respond well to formulations for sensitive skin.

Enjoy this humidity and remember to hydrate. Humidity is good for your skin! It is time to talk about preparing your skin for the cold, harsh winter to come. Summer is a slower time in the Esthetics business because people are often in the sun and don’t want to do active treatments. I recommend getting on my books for September so that we can start prepping your skin and strengthening your barrier for the winter to come.
