It’s been 2 years. I had to put our differences aside because lately, I’ve been needing my mom.
Growing up with a mother who struggled with addiction was hard — both as a little girl and now as a woman. One day she’s sober, but the streets (especially Durham) call her back every time.
I love her no matter what, and I believe one day she’ll overcome this disease.
