One of the reasons I chose to bring DMK into my practice is because I believe in using the same tools and treatments that I would choose for myself.

This year, I plan to undergo breast implant removal surgery—a decision I’ve put a great deal of thought into and one that I’m incredibly excited about. As both a paramedical tattoo artist and esthetician, I’m already thinking ahead about supporting my healing journey and caring for my scars in the best way possible.

Healing is never just about what happens in the operating room. It’s also about how we support the skin afterward.

I’m looking forward to incorporating DMK Skin Revision treatments and home care into my own recovery process to help support healthy skin function, optimize healing, and care for the appearance of my scars as they mature.

One of the things I love most about DMK is that the philosophy aligns so closely with my own approach to skin and scar care: work with the body, support its natural processes, and create an environment where healing can thrive.

As someone who helps others navigate their own restoration journeys every day, there’s something meaningful about experiencing one of my own.

AR**LA TATTOO AFTERCARE (-)(-)

Your restoration journey doesn’t end when your appointment does.

Following proper aftercare is one of the most important steps in achieving beautiful healed results after ar**la tattooing.

✨ Tegaderm will remain in place for 5 days.
✨ You may shower normally while wearing the bandage.
✨ Avoid swimming, hot tubs, baths, and submerging the area in water.
✨ After removing the bandage, gently cleanse the area with mild soap and water.
✨ Apply your recommended aftercare balm twice daily for a minimum of 10 days.
✨ If wearing a bra, use a non-stick pad between the tattoo and fabric during the first few days after bandage removal.

Some fluid, ink, or discoloration beneath the Tegaderm is completely normal during the healing process.

Every ar**la tattoo is custom designed to restore natural-looking color, dimension, and confidence after breast surgery. Healing is a process, and following your aftercare instructions helps ensure the best possible outcome.

POV: You had breast lift surgery and everything’s great but your ar**las are two different sizes.

Happens all the time! I see this an insane amount of times in my studio. My approach is to map out the size of the larger ar**la and mirror it onto the smaller side. Adding layers in 3-4 sessions to make the softest appearing color match for an undetectable result.

Scar Camouflage Color Correction:
Previous camouflage done by another artist. A heavy concentration of yellow pigment and some remanence of coral peach tones were left with very spotty coverage.
Between the two photos you can see this from the close up and also how one correction session with me healed.

One thing about camouflage correction tattoos is that I can only guess by appearance what type of pigments were used. The goal is to try and neutralize the tone with the correct color chemistry and build the areas back to match a natural skin tone for the client. This is a really good outcome for one correction session! Stoked to see how the next layer we did for session 2 heals!
