when does silk press season start? I get that question often and honestly the answer is different for everyone! but if you know you haven't been giving your hair the best attention, let's hold off until the weather cools down a bit more!
Using the wrong products can be detrimental to the health of your hair! Even if a product is marketed towards daily use, it doesn't necessarily mean that your hair will benefit from it. Especially us girls with natural hair! My friend here had been using a popular Bond builder system on her hair for 4 months. And within that time her hair dried out and split so terribly. She had healthy virgin hair before using this product. She only wears her hair and a wash and goes and twist outs, so this much damage in that amount of time is unusual. And many other people have shared a similar experience with this product line as well. Although I'm sure it can be useful to those who have severely damaged or color treated hair, if you have healthy and natural hair you should avoid using it. While I won't say the name of this product line, it should be pretty easy to figure out what I'm talking about. I'm a huge advocate for hair care being simple, and using products with simple ingredients. This is just a warning to all of my naturals to be more mindful when shopping for products!
