🌈 🌈 This was one of my favorite color creations I’ve ever done. With over two years of grow-out from our last session together, she was ready for som**hing intense. All-over lightener, pre-tone in violet, and then the rainbow! So fun and so striking. This job deserves two posts!

Baby, she’s got the blues 💙💙💙 talk about a dream come true for a hair stylist, this client came to me with 100% virgin hair and a desire for a stunning blend of varying depths of blue throughout. This was a two day process. The first day, we tackled the platinum card to get her hair to a solid and even level 9, and the pre-tone, which was a silver and blue base to counteract all yellow. This will allow the blue to pop and be true to tone, mitigating the risk that it should show up green. The second day, we tackled the blue. Pictured in the gallery is the entire journey. We were ecstatic with the result. 🌀

Third session result of a slow build bronde. My beautiful Greek goddess of a client had been wearing a bright vivid red for a couple years and opted for som**hing softer and more subtle. The build up of highlights over many sessions provides a soft diffusion of mid tone blonde feathered into a palette of gold, caramel, and her own rich brunette, which we warmed up a bit by adding a slightly base-shifting root drop to soften the transition of colors. As it grows out, the slight shift in base color will soften the contrast between her very dark natural color and the lightness of the blonde. I love the outcome, it’s elegant and feminine. I designed the color to have minimal maintenance, so she could experience a graceful grow-out process. The maintenance that would be beneficial would be haircuts and a toner, ideally every 8 weeks. It is also good to replenish dry ends and smooth the cuticle with regular Olaplex treatments and a high quality home care regimen including a wardrobe of products for in the shower and for styling. The blonde patterning will continue to diffuse more and more as time goes on, and the option to change the tone will always remain should she choose to switch it up. Her hair is naturally very curly, so the color becomes even more defined when it dries in its natural state. I just love color that has versatility, I believe that a color service should provide the client with many options and looks.

After more than 3 years of building up her color, we finally reached this beautiful result. Not gonna lie, we both endured a long 9 hours in order to achieve this look. I hadn’t seen her in close to a year because of Covid, so she definitely needed the full blown treatment. I utilized baby lights and traditional woven highlights throughout the entire head, as well as tipping out the ends of the hair left between the foils. It was a long appointment, but what else is new? 😂 most of my appointments are getting to be super long these days. It’s really worth it in the end, though, especially when you consider that this blonding technique yields an incredibly long wear time. In my opinion, the look evolves over time as the roots grow in. The fine details in the highlighting pattern results in probably the most graceful grow-out one could have apart from a balayage grow-out. In fact, after several months, this type of color service begins to take on the look of balayage, providing value and enjoyment for months and months on end. The color artists of today are tasked with providing a service that packs a punch with its visual aesthetic, and its longevity. I am honored to be able to provide this and am happy to do so. It feeds my soul, really. ♥️♥️♥️

Tape in extensions move up on my lovely client, we transformed her hair from short to long, sometimes we sacrifice length for blonde. We shifted her color to a darker and more easy to wear shade, and added 18” extensions with blonde on the ends so she could have the best of both worlds.

Sometimes you have to be your own subject.

🌀Attached at the end of the album is a picture collage of an idea that we referenced to achieve her look. The main picture on the collage is the original inspo picture of the look my client requested, the other three are a few more options we found for varying looks with the same color variations.

🌀She is very low maintenance with her styling, mainly straightens her hair, so I wanted to create a custom look for her that met her desires and lifestyle, but would complement a straight style as she wears it straight all the time. A curl or wave set in the hair usually sets a look like this off to perfection, and while she can always opt to wear a beachy wave if she wants to switch it up, we cut her hair in a style that provides movement and separation so that the colors pop when worn straight. I sectioned the panels for the light blue, turquoise and purple accents in a way that can be enjoyed with any style she chooses.

🌀She came in with a virgin base, hallelujah!🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 (VIRGIN hair lifts the best, always.)

🌀I used a platinum card technique (all the hair in foils) to get her as light as possible in one day. I applied lightener at the roots with the foils still in and let her process until we achieved a clean, all-over banana yellow which I then pre-toned with a silver to eliminate all warmth and to prepare the canvas for authentic tonal reflection and maximum shine. Toners are acidic, so it also closes the cuticle after a lightening service. Lightener is highly alkaline.

🌀I used my bonder every step of the way, I applied the number 2 after rinsing the toner and let it sit for the entire 15 minutes.
After shampooing, I applied a luxurious repair mask to restore luster and moisture.

🌀I had her come back the next day for part 2, a service of this magnitude is too long to sit for one day.

🌀After deciding on a final plan of action for her goal look, we sectioned her off and I got to work.

🌀Second appointment was 4 hours

🌀In order to achieve the best possible results, no step of the process can be rushed or skipped, trust me when I say it will come back to haunt you if you do. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and likewise, awesome and beautiful hair takes time ⏰ ♥️♥️♥️
