God is Grand. I am so THANKFUL that God has allowed me to see a day beyond my 54th birthday. I am thankful for all the wonderful birthday wishes yesterday. The texts, the calls the emails and the Cashapps and Apple Pays and Zelles. Grateful is an understatement. I am elated.

My mother did not make it to this birthday number.

My entire life - up until she died when I was 24…my birthday happy time was Thanksgiving day as my mom would recount the story EVERY YEAR…how she went into labor after dinner and her water broke.

My daddy was speeding down the street to the hospital with Stormy and Chuck in tow as Chuck holding my mom’s hand told my daddy, slow down…”don’t you see she’s in pain?!”

8:01 am I came into the world. Named for both of my grandmother’s Elizabeth & my great grandmother Nonie…

Every year she would look at me and smile no matter day Thanksgiving fell on, and tell me the story again and again.

This birthday is dedicated to the memory of my mother Madeline Sanders. She would have been 83 years old now. I often wonder what she would have been like with all this technology. (Smile)

I’m going to spend this day reminiscing when my family was in tact. Thanking God that I have great and beautiful memories and not nightmares. 🤣🙌🏾🙏🏽

Happy Father’s Day fellas. Just a few pics of me with the MAN second to God. He was the absolute best. When Father’s Day came, it was always a big deal at our house. There was never a day that I didn’t know exactly where he was. He always came home at the same time every morning from work - right before we left for school, he would be at the kitchen table smoking a cigarette and drinking black coffee (because when he put cream in it- according to him it became a meal replacement 😂). Sometimes he’d make us breakfast while reminding us how our mother couldn’t cook when he married her and he taught her how to cook. We couldn’t help but contrast Father’s Day with Mother’s Day back then and how short the wait was in restaurants 😂 Hopefully times have changed and the MEN WHO ARE GOOD FATHERS finally get their props. ❤️❤️❤️ MINE ALWAYS WILL. Happy heavenly Father’s Day daddy…this is who my “Sir Charles” serum gets its name from. He was my biggest supporter - then Stormy….he carried my serum in his shirt pocket 😂😂😂😂 - the song 🎶 playing - yep that was his JAM…what a man what a man what a man what a mighty good man yes he is 😂😂😂🎶🎶🎶
