In the fall of 2021 I completed my certification in level 3 Bioesthetic dentistry. This course was an advanced education in restoring harmony to the muscles and jaw joint through cosmetic rejuvenation. ​​​​​​​​

I was so blessed to be amongst great dentists who have chosen to take the less travelled path of private care dentistry that focuses on individualized service, and authentic relationships with our patients. ​​​​​​​​

My patient had suffered from extreme tooth decay and gum disease causing severe pain and irritation. Aesthetically, this had emotional implications on him. We discussed multiple options to save his teeth but decided to proceed with full mouth implants. ​​​​​​​​

We removed his remaining teeth, placed the implants, and inserted a set of attractive, sturdy and functional set of temporary teeth. ​​​​​​​​

Work life Balance🤔​​​​​​​​

I remember my first job out of dental school. I worked 6 days a week, saw back-to-back patients all day, striving to make that ‘big girl’ money.​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
As you can guess, this was not a recipe for success and led me to burnout quickly.​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
That’s when I realized I need to prioritized creating a career with more balance. I dropped my clinical days to 4 days a week & extended my time with each patient. This would afford me time with my family and more one-on-one time with each patient.​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
This didn’t always worked as planned. Some months I worked overtime and some months I was home more. This created a imbalance that I surprisingly thrived in!! 😃​​​​​​​​

In my quest for work life balance, I thought there had to be strict boundaries. What I discovered for myself is that I thrive in in-balance. Structure is important but so is respecting my ambition and letting it take me places.​​​​​​​​
