Built in 1971 replacing the soaring steel and glass structure that once stood in its place, the Concourse Building at Chicago Union Station was last renovated in 1990 and does not meet the demands of a modern train station nor that of the 110,000 commuter and long-distance passengers that use the station every day. The new design will make more room for passengers and provide a higher level of service and amenities. The renovation will incorporate contemporary thinking around sustainability, inclusivity, and universal design.

Below is a message from The Polar Express to our wonderful group of loyal Polar Express fans. It is unfortunate and we are looking forward to their return in 2023 🤞🏼:

“We regret to announce that despite the diligent work of everyone involved, THE POLAR EXPRESS Train Ride will not operate at Chicago Union Station in 2022.

Due to a systemwide shortage of railroad personnel, there are not enough certified operating crews available to run our train this season. We understand this is an important experience for families and we will do everything we can to return to Chicago in 2023.”

Beginning Sep 15th, the Baja Chicken Wrap will be launching in your Fridge! Packed with protein, marinated with flavor, wrapped with care. This whole wheat tortilla is filled with chicken, brown rice, roasted poblanos, cabbage, cilantro, and a delicious yogurt chile lime sauce.

Both of the Chicago Union Station Farmers Fridge’s will be carrying this delicious new item!

Rice-A-Roni Trolley will be making a stop outside Chicago Union Station today from noon until 4:00 p.m. 👏🏼
