This was MY hairstylist growing up. A friend of my parents and someone who felt like a cool aunt to me, Patty absolutely influenced me to get into this business. She saved me from many hair color disasters in high school and even pierced my nose with a Claire’s style ear piercing gun. I visited her this past weekend in Wisconsin for a memorial. Tragically, her only son passed away at only 29 years old. We hugged and cried together and I held her hand and told her that I would be her kid now. And as she walked me around and introduced me to everyone as “Kristin who owns a salon in Chicago because of me”, I absolutely felt our life long connection.
