🌿 A Bittersweet Update from The Eco Shop 🌿

Opening The Eco Shop has been an incredible experience, and I am so thankful for the journey it has taken me on. After much prayer and reflection, I have made the decision to close our physical location.

This past season has been challenging as my parents’ health has required more of my time and care. I have been carrying a lot quietly, trying to manage both The Eco Shop and my parents’ health, and it is time for me to honor what my spirit has been asking, which is to be present with them. I have the blessing to be with them, especially supporting my mom through her dialysis journey and helping care for my dad.

If you know me, you know I share the real moments, both good and hard. I believe in being transparent because so many of us are navigating similar seasons. I hope this reminds someone that it is okay to slow down and make changes. Your health, your peace, and your loved ones matter. Whether it is mental, physical, or spiritual, taking care of yourself should always come first. And we need each other now more than ever. Community care is where real healing happens.

The Eco Shop began as a way to help my family live a more natural and healthier lifestyle, especially for my parents. From there, it grew into something that could support others doing the same. That purpose still stands. Staying true to that purpose now means honoring my own family and my own well-being.

The Eco Shop is not going away. We are simply shifting. We will continue online, through pop-up events, and with workshops in new spaces.

As of now, I do not know exactly what is ahead for The Eco Shop, and there is beauty in that. There is room for something new to grow. My hope is that the next time I share a big update, it will be about finding our forever home. For now, I am trusting the process.

Until we officially close, we will be offering rotating in-store sales. Please stop by, say hello, and stock up on your favorite items while you can.

To Tabby, our incredible store manager. She has truly been essential to The Eco Shop. Her knowledge, dedication, love, and consistency have held this place together when I needed to be with my family. I appreciate her deeply, and I am grateful that our friendship has grown through this.

To our vendors, who trusted us with their products and helped make this space special.
And to our family, friends, neighbors, customers, and community, thank you for showing up, supporting, and believing in this mission.

The Eco Shop is proud to stand with our next-door neighbors, Sanad Social Services, right here in the Chicago Lawn community. 💚

Sanad has been serving families for over 30 years, since 1991, providing food, diapers, utility relief, and other essential support. During the pandemic, when many pantries had to close, Sanad was one of the few that stayed open, feeding thousands of families week after week.

They didn’t stop then, and they’re not stopping now.

We’ve teamed up with another incredible local small business, EnjoyAcorn, a family-owned gourmet popcorn shop on 79th Street. Together we’re raising funds to help Sanad continue their work feeding and uplifting our community.

✨ All proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to Sanad Social Services to support their food pantry and community programs.

This is what community looks like. Neighbors helping neighbors. Small businesses standing side by side and families coming together to make a difference. 💛
