Every week, we see roughly 125+ clients for lash extensions. At each appointment, we use a mascara wand to brush the lash extensions, which is then offered to the client to take home. If the client declines to take it, it is then thrown out (for sanitation purposes they are not reused) -- until now! We have found a use for these brushes and it supports such a good cause! Wands for Wildlife collects old mascara wands to remove fly eggs and larva from the fur of injured & orphaned wildlife. To the "I don't wear mascara" crowd, we know. We. Always. Know. Please do not complain about retention if you are not doing your due diligence in your at home care. Oils in makeup break down the bond of lash extension adhesive and cause them to fall faster. If you MUST use mascara (🤔) it is in your best interest to buy an extension safe mascara (I will gladly sell you our Xtreme mascara). Store bought mascaras are not only difficult to remove but dry on the lash causing the adhesive to crack; they also adhere your extensions together, therefore not only losing extensions but possibly damaging your natural lashes with premature shedding as well. As If all of that isn't enough, you get the same hour time as everyone else -- if we have to spend extra time on cleaning, you get less lashes. Dirty lashes = poor adhering of extension to your natural lash. Dirty lashes = HELLO, INFECTION. 👹
