Sitting here working (as usual) and after almost a decade conducting research on and implementing global food security initiatives (especially in Africa)....It amazes me how little the narrative has changed....in some ways its even worse....and it really just doesn't need to be....how is it this hard? :/

2016 is finally here and we have so much to look forward to! This past year has seen tough times for Africa and the strength and resilience our partners have shown is beyond inspiring! We are excited to resume our work with you all, especially on the Africa Breadfruit Initiative. FAI is also excited about work on the domestic front here in Chicago. I hope this will be the best year yet! Happy New Year everyone....let's get busy!

So happy to see this!!! Breadfruit does hold great potential for so many people all over the world and we are so happy to be a part of this effort to improve global access to such a versatile hunger solution.
Tropical fruit may play role in feeding 9.6 billion With the global population projected by the United Nations to hit 9.6 billion by 2050, producing enough healthy food in a sustainable manner will be a challenge.

Aliko Dangote has announced plans to invest $2.3 billion in rice and sugar production in Nigeria’s northern region. The investment is apart of a plan to help combat poverty and insurgency in the nation.
Speaking at the World Economic Forum, Dangote said that creating jobs was a crucial way of putting an end to the insurgency that has plagued the northern region in the last few years.
