Warning, this is a consumer tip:

Okay, so your looking for a New Stylist your saying? Someone different from what you had in the past?
now here's the question, how are you going to find this person?
Need some help? Ok, let me help you with what I know.

First things first, ask yourself why are you leaving your current stylist? Did he / she not give you the look that you were looking for?
Did they out price you with what you can afford?
Or was it too difficult or too out of your way to get there? Or was it something else that I did not list?

Whatever the reason, ask your self why are you leaving this person to try someone else?

Change is always good and change can be fun. Ask your self, what am I looking for? What do I need from the next person that I wasn't getting from the previous Salon?

Here are some things that i want you to consider:
1) if your leaving your current Salon because your Job is moving you to another State, then go online and look up salons near your job. Or if you know where you're going to live in the new state, then find local salons near you. Ask your current stylist, maybe he or she will know of a salon that you can visit and try out.

2) if you're leaving your salon because he or she is not giving you the look that your wanting, perhaps sometimes instead of just leaving and trying someone new make a point to sit down with your stylist and give them your fullest honest answer of why you're kind of disappointed with the look that they've given you. Sometimes communication can be a good thing between stylist and consumer. In the end if you're not getting the answer or the look that you're looking for, then go ahead and move on and try to find someone new.

Let me give you some tips to follow before choosing a New Stylist. Write these down please:

1) if you see a person that has a great cut or color and it's what your looking for, go up to that person and let them know. Who knows, maybe that person is a Stylist or has a great Stylist for you to try out.

2) if you want to go online to look up salons near your job or your home, check for prices that you can afford regarding your hair care needs.

look for referrals that people leave on websites regarding some of the stylist that they've listed, and check to see that the product line that they have suits your personal needs when it comes to shampoos conditioners and styling products. Also check to see if the salon is certified in the product line that they're using. That's very important. That tells you they know their product line inside and out!

3) as a consumer, we all have these grand ideas of certain styles and looks that we would love to see in our hair, however reality needs to kick in and we need to know exactly what will and what will not work with our hair. You should have a stylist that is honest but fair and will give you an actual reality of what they can and cannot do with your hair. Sometimes it takes a couple of 2-3 haircuts to grow your hair into a desired look.

Whatever it is that you're looking for, make sure that you ask for pricing. If you cannot find what your looking for in the price range that you can afford at that particular salon, then it's better for you to try another salon that has economically priced if that's important for.

4) what's important for you? Does your new stylist / salon have to look like the image that you're trying to create for yourself? Or does that not matter? Are you willing to travel a great distance to be with a stylist or staying local near your home is important for you?
What other services will you be needing in this salon? do you need a nail technician? An esthetician? Or a massage therapist? Or are you just needing a "Good Old Fashion Haircut"?

Whatever it is that you're looking for regarding a new stylist or salon, be true to yourself and always ask yourself what do I need? And how will this Salon help me?

Remember, this is the salon that you will visit quite often for your hair care needs. That's stylist needs to know what he or she is doing regarding your hair care needs. That stylist should know their product line inside and out. They need to be able to give you helpful tips on maintaining your Look. But they also should be very nice people, people who want to listen to your hair care needs.

Well that's it for today, tell me how I did for the very first time. I'm interested to hear what everyone has to say, because helping me to help you is what I'm all about!

See you next time on concepts and design for both the consumer and stylist.
Bye for now

Congratulations to my friend. Thank you for allowing me the pleasure of doing your Hair on your Special Day. Hair was set, backed combed and formed into formation on fine hair.

Hair with fine texture needs to be set for added control in designing. Gives longer lasting hold when set rather just blown out and styled. I recommend at least 2 to 3 trail runs before the big day.
