Since I never post. Hey yall ❤️.
Paying attention to small details like these is what separates a basic sew-in from a professional install. When your bundle runs out mid row, don’t stack the weft. Connect the next weft beside it so the track stays flat and the install remains clean from start to finish.

Teaching on-base placement for a state board roller set with my teen cosmetology students at Righteous Hair Lab. Proper tension and positioning creates the volume and foundation every roller set needs.
Part two of our Teen Self Love Valentine’s Day experience at Righteous Hair Lab. Tonight wasn’t about hair. It was about real conversations, accountability, healing, vision, and reminding these young women who they are and who they’re becoming. Watching them speak life over themselves, release what no longer serves them, and step into confidence is why I do this work. I’m grateful to lead, mentor, and pour into the next generation because this right here is bigger than cosmetology.
I planned this special evening for my teens. Normally we’d be focused on cosmetology, but I told them to leave their tools and mannequin heads at home and show up in pink or red for a Valentine’s Day party. They thought it was just a celebration, but I had something much more intentional planned for them.
The evening was beautiful. Real work was done. And hearing them say they left better than when they came… that right there reminded me I’m walking in my purpose.
I thank God for the vision, the courage to walk in it, and the space to build something bigger than me. Part two coming next. Like & Share!!
I just wanna be a boss and mind my business. I never said I wanted to be a content creator 😭
But this is the world we live in. Visibility matters. If people don’t see you, they can’t support you.
So I showed up anyway. I hit post anyway.
And look at God… almost 5k new followers and a whole community of people who actually LOVE what I put out.
So idk who needs to hear this but create the content.
Stop overthinking. Stop waiting. Stop hiding.
Your people are literally on the other side of you pressing post. 💯
I thank God for my mind.
I thank God for my peace.
I thank God I didn’t quit when it got heavy.
I survived seasons that were trying to take me out.
I prayed with tears.
I kept showing up anyway.
Now I stand confident.
Clear.
Grounded.
And grateful.
For a side part sew in, the foundation determines the final result 💡
When you pull those braids up and then braid down, the hair at the nape is never anchored to the head. That upward pull creates tension, the braids stack on top of each other, and the foundation won’t lay flat. You end up sewing over hair instead of sewing into the foundation.
A beehive foundation anchors the hair to the scalp, distributes weight correctly, and creates a flat foundation before the sew in even begins 🎯 This is why foundation choice matters just as much as installation technique.
Save this and study your braid downs 📌✍🏽
Deep side parts do not start at the braid down. They start with the leave out.
If you split your leave out straight down the middle, you are working against the natural growth pattern of the head.
In this breakdown, I show why sectioning around the crown matters and how following the natural curve of the head makes the hair fall how it is supposed to. I switched to a bird’s eye view so you can see this the same way you would standing behind the chair.
This is not about making sections look even. It is about control, blend, and how the install is going to lay at the finish.
Next up is the deep side part braid down so you can see how this sectioning supports the install from start to finish 👀
