Amber Musc

I fell in love with Amber years ago.

For me it was an intoxicating experience of holding a small ornately carved wooden box with a golden chunky substance in it.
My memory Is fuzzy as I was 7 or 8 years old but I believe the place was a record store on Haight and Ashbury in
San Francisco.
Growing up in that area I was very familiar with the scent of patchouli, ma*****na and incense that wafted literally everywhere in the 1960’s but this scent seemed more exotic and even mysterious with the beautiful box presentation. It was precious.

Many years later I became curious and wanted to know what is Amber, exactly?
This is a road many perfumers go down early on when learning about fragrances and while it is super interesting, I will save it for another time.

When creating this perfume I struggled a bit with myself questioning how or what I could offer to the Amber perfume table? It is formulaic and a standard accord that has been created a gazillion times - and beautifully so.
I went back to my scent memory roots and studied and worked with the resins and oils til I fell back in love with the Amber from that rosewood box - so long ago.
