Meet Ben 🐾❤️

We love all of our dogs, but we are especially proud of this one, simply because he’s come SO far 🥹 Ben was raised in a very traumatic environment, and was pretty guarded and stand off-ish when he came to the shelter, especially with women. But today, he lets our female kennel attendant walk him, bathe him, and even trim his nails! He’s nothing but a big baby 😍

Because of Ben’s traumatic past we are looking for just the right person to open up their home and heart to him. He is scared, but trying not to be. It takes a while to earn his trust, but once you do it’s incredibly rewarding.

Ben was expected to protect his environment in the past, so he most likely needs to be the only pet in the home, at least for now, until he can bond with his human. Ben will be microchipped before adoption and comes with a voucher to pay for the cost for him to be neutered. He is on a list to be neutered if he remains at the shelter much longer.

Ben is a 2-3 year old lab/pittie mix. We will disclose the details of Ben’s past to potential adopters, we just can’t share online. If you think you could give Ben the support he needs, give us a call at 740-474-3741. You won’t regret it 🙏
