Check your date and time. When I talk about reliable clients, I’m not talking about isolated events. Life happens. We are all human. I’m talking about patterns. There’s a big difference between someone who has an occasional scheduling issue and someone who is consistently late, cancels often, or leaves me guessing. Reliability isn’t about being perfect, it’s about being consistent.

June 30th marks one year of being in my own space, and this year has taught me a lot about myself.

I’ve learned that first impressions aren’t always accurate. A lot of people assume I’m quiet, but the people who really know me know that’s far from the truth. I’m very sarcastic, I laugh loud, I have a dry sense of humor, I love to joke around, and I can talk your ear off once I’m comfortable.

I’ve also learned that I’m a direct person. Not because I’m rude or unkind, but because I value honesty and communication. I’d rather know where I stand than be left guessing, and I try to give people that same respect.

Owning my own space has also taught me to stop chasing people. Whether it’s friendships, clients, or relationships in general, the right people don’t need to be chased. The clients who are the best fit for me are dependable, respectful, reliable, and communicative. They respect my time, and I respect theirs.

For a long time I think I spent too much energy trying to fit in, be understood, or make everyone comfortable. These days I’m much more comfortable being myself, and I’ve realized not everyone is going to understand me. That’s okay.

Most importantly, I’ve learned that peace is valuable, boundaries are necessary, and being yourself is a whole lot less exhausting than trying to be who you think everyone else wants you to be.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me this past year. This little salon has been one of the biggest blessings of my life, and I’m grateful for every one of you.

July is fully booked, and most of August is booked as well. If you need to reschedule your appointment, you’ll be moved to the first available opening, which is currently in August.
