05/01/2026

We stand with our community today in joining the call to a National Strike!
Today we will use our bodies, our voices, and our money to scream WE DON’T SUPPORT ICE IN OUR COMMUNITIES! WE DON’T SUPPORT THE WAR! WE BELIEVE EVERYONE DESERVES EQUITABLE WAGES AND HEALTHCARE! AND WE SURE AS HELL HOPE OUR LOCAL POLITICIANS ARE PAYING ATTENTION () CAUSE WE SURE AS HELL DON’T SUPPORT THE TREATMENT AND NEGLECT OF NORTH CITY!

We ask everyone NO WORK NO SCHOOL NO SHOPPING! If you can’t do this please be mindful of where you spend your money today; it’s our largest tool to fight back!

To is going to be a good May Day!!! STRIKE STRIKE STRIKE!!!

I love that hair gives a soft place to land for at least an hour or two. The world is so fast and loud and a lot of our client community purposefully puts themselves right into the thick of that; attending community outreach, working with mutual aid organizations, putting in the time to help StL grow so I love that we can offer a space to be gentle and slow for a moment. This doesn’t mean we hide or ignore while we are here, we unburden, we discuss, we settle in with community for awhile 💖

Them: What do you do for fun?
Me: My career! 💖💖💖

It was a blast getting to do hair and makeup for and during their interactive fashion and art showcase, “The Art of Fashion”! It’s been an incredible experience getting to merge my career with the fashion world over the last few years and seeing the fashion industry showing up and showing out in the city I live in! 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

A list of things I have access to for this picture to exist that the Trans Community doesnt have at all, has low accessibility to, or is losing their rights to (and I know I’ll forget/overlook some so feel free to add in) 🏳️‍⚧️

-no fear in the bathroom to take all the time I needed for this pic
-gender affirming care (mine just in this pic: makeup, hair, Botox, lip filler for easy basics. Balanced hormones and medical care to have good mental and physical health to get deeper with you)
-gender affirming clothing (that cleavage was bought and paid for by my bra)
-the right to have my own bank account and career in my correct name
-THE RIGHT TO HAVE MY OWN ID WITH MY CORRECT NAME AND CORRECT GENDER ON IT
- the experience of not having to be anxious if someone will question my ID against how I look vs how the government makes me look for an ID pic
-literal freedom to do what I want and show off my body how I want

One thing they will never take:
-the right to shake some ass 🫶🏻

Protect our Trans community! 🏳️‍⚧️ Kansas can not be the leader in this fu**ed up fascist follow the leader game America is playing.

Use your voice and get active!
To my white peers learn, listen, and get uncomfortable.
Start with .ashe article: “Dear White People: Renne Good” and then follow up with her article “Dear White People You’re getting it Wrong” on Substack or her social media.

Then get active in an organization and inform yourself on events we need to show up to like protests, volunteer work, and mutual aid events. Because we need to show up with our bodies not just social media and talk. It’s ok if you’re not a protester, there are tons of rolls in resistance.

Here are some of the organizations we have gotten active with or follow for ways to be involved.
