Tanning Tips 101 💫

Most tanning accelerators are designed to condition the skin and help optimize the tanning process. They often contain ingredients like Tyrosine, moisturizers, antioxidants, and botanical oils that work best when applied directly to clean skin. 🌿✨

SPF works differently. Its job is to form a protective layer on the surface of the skin to help reduce the amount of UV radiation that reaches your skin cells. 🛡️☀️

If you apply your accelerator on top of your sunscreen, you may disrupt that protective layer and reduce the effectiveness of your SPF. 🚫

Think of sunscreen as the top coat on a manicure 💅 It should be the final step.

☀️ Accelerator first
☀️ SPF second
☀️ Reapply SPF as directed, especially after swimming, sweating, or towel drying

If you’re using a mineral sunscreen containing zinc oxide or titanium dioxide, this is even more important. Mineral SPFs are designed to sit on the surface of the skin and act as a protective shield, so they should always be the final layer applied. 🧴🛡️

☀️ Avoid shaving immediately before sessions
☀️ Use a professional tanning lotion designed for UV exposure
☀️ Some experienced tanners use tingles specifically on the legs for increased microcirculation 🔥

Tanning is rarely just about “more minutes.”
Skin condition, circulation, equipment type, UV ratio, and consistency all play a role 🧬

Slow, gradual, consistent tanning almost always produces better looking results than overdoing it 🤍☀️
