Is your hair shedding like crazy?!

If so, you’re not alone!

A lot of people tend to experience more hair shed than
normal during late summer and/or early autumn!

Why does this happen? Everyone’s hair goes through a
natural cycle where hair growth and rest periods
alternate. The phase of resting is the telogen phase.
During this phase, the hair follicle is completely at rest
and hair tends to fall out or shed more easily.

During the summer months, we tend to hold onto
more hair to protect our scalp from UV light. Because
our hair goes through a cycle, after a season of holding
more hair is a season of shedding. That’s why we tend
to shed more once the days start getting shorter and
the days aren’t as sunny!
